Bad Experience with RAV4 Hitch Install
I made a reservation for 8 am to get a hitch installed, and we selected that we would like to wait for the vehicle. Upon arrival, we were told that the person that installs hitches wouldn’t get there until 9 am. Not sure why you’re able to make a reservation if someone isn’t there to assist you.
Since they have no area for customers to actually wait, we went over to the nearby Denny’s to kill some time. When we returned, a different rep (who was great and super accommodating) told us that “the hitch is on, but someone needs to do the wiring”. That guy was supposedly going to be there by 10 am. He came into the shop around 10:30. We interacted a little bit, but was given no update on the status of the install.
Ultimately, we didn’t get out of there until nearly noon with 4-6 different staff there on a slow, Thursday morning. I know these things can take time, but I was not expecting nearly 4 hours with minimal information provided.
They also didn’t finish putting the ball, pin, etc. on. When we went to the W Washington location to get a trailer put on later that day, the rep there took a look at our incomplete setup and said, “we installed this!?”.
I recommend going to one of the other Uhaul locations if you need a hitch installed and are able.

This location is terrible. Had the worst U-Haul experience here. The manager has the worst attitude and even worse customer service skills. The staff here look like they don’t want to help you and it seems like they do not know what they are doing. I would highly recommend finding another store if you want to rent a U-Haul.

I would not recommend this place at all. I went there for a hitch install with my Toyota Rav4 which I was told would be 1 hour to 1 1/2 in time. Which i was there over 3 hours and each time I checked on my vehicle no one was even at it working on it. Instead you had 5 employees behind the registers working on two ppl. Then when it was finally completed I was running late for my next appointment I had later I the day so I left. Just to discover my back of the SUV in the interior had greasy finger print all over like something kids would do. My radio was frozen on a language selection then wasn't working properly from it having a frozen screen to just a black screen of death. My start up was really hard to crank over to get my vehicle to start up. So after looking over the work they not only left grease hand print everywhere that took me some time to get off. My radio had to completely come out and be replace that the similar unit that was in there was over $500.00 dollars. Which I didn't want to pay so I just got a cheap one for $150 dollars at Walmart. Then the issue with the starting up my vehicle was bc of a lose connection at the terminal of my battery which could be the reason for all the issues that occurred. Either way I dont know how all this happen but it occurred right after my hitch install when they added a hitch and wiring for the trailer lights. I contact the place and the 1800 number still haven't gotten a call back for my experience I had. Only thing I got was a 6 digit text message saying it's Will call me at your convenience which has no contact info to do so. I call 1800 uhaul they transferred me to Will who is the General Manager and it goes to voicemail that is full.

Excellent Service for Toyota RAV4 Hitch Installation
Despite being late for my appointment the GM William Hopson went above and beyond to accommodate me. I was open to rescheduling my appointment but he was able to fit me in. He jumped in to install the hitch himself even though the regular installer had left for the day.
I was very impressed by the service and I highly recommend them.

Very recommended location, Javier, the attendant was excellent and very helpful, he made sure that were ready for the move and helped load up the car in the auto tow. First time riding a truck with a tow, and if I loaded the car to the tow, I would have been very nerves for the entire trip.

Allow me to share a recent experience my spouse had while renting a Uhaul truck for moving purposes. Unfortunately, the key was mistakenly locked inside the truck, leading us to immediately contact the Uhaul rental facility from where we rented the truck located 2mins away. However, they were unable to provide us with a spare key and suggested that we call roadside assistance to unlock the truck for a fee of $50. Upon receiving a quote of $200 higher than what was initially communicated, we were hesitant to proceed with their service. Nevertheless, we were able to locate a reliable locksmith who promptly and honestly assisted us throughout the process. Despite the unexpected difficulty, we were grateful for the locksmith's help and relieved to have found a cost-effective solution to our predicament.

I would HIGHLY recommend this location! Everyone was supeeer helpful the truck was clean and working fantastic! So glad that I have them close by and the rates CAN’T BE BEAT!

My wife is a realtor and also owns a staging business. We have rented many trucks from this location over the years, because we are constantly moving furniture.
Recently, every time we get a truck it has around 1/4 tank of gas in it. Not a big deal, because we do not usually drive out of the Madison area. We always fill it back up to a 1/4 tank.
Today, the truck had 1/8 tank of gas and I was told if it isn’t returned with a 1/4 tank of gas we would be charged $13.50! So, if I do not put more gas in it than it came with it, they charge me! I asked him why this is and he told me they don’t have a gas station there. The system will automatically charge you, if it doesn’t have at least 1/4 tank of gas.
Something is fishy here !!!!!

Worst possible experience trying to pick up a Truck without human contact. U-HAUL has no idea how to design a user friendly process, nothing is explained and no pre-work steps are provided to help you. Avoid.
