I came in for a passport appointment. The two staff were patient, friendly and helpful.

Very friendly, patient, yet keeps the line moving fast. This will be my go-to P.O. in Madison!

I called about missing packages. The woman on the phone was incredibly rude. I tried to explain multiple times how the package had gone missing… she had no interest in hearing the situation or helping. I would consider it very unfortunate if you have a need to interact with the staff at this location.

Avoid this place at all costs. Heros do not work here.
Go to any other post office in town as myself, and everyone waiting in line wish we had done. My first any only experience was so poor and the employees were so rude and unforgiving, you could feel the bond between those waiting in line as we witnessed it all unfold. As we patiently waited to mail our things, we listened to CLERK 11 unforgivingly deny and reprimand every individual in front of us. This is wrong, that is incomplete, come back with tape and something to write with, etc. These were not polite corrections, it was not feedback. It was scolding. After waiting in line for nearly 20 minutes it was my turn. I had to mail a simple large envelope that had an address with sticker label. She very rudely told me the zip code was not coming up on her end. I double verified it on the label and with google search. This immediately for some odd reason was heated and turning into an argument unbeknownst to me. I requested to have sent to zip code that was on there. She did not like that answer. After some debate it was settled. I was unintentionally and surprisingly another person in line that was chastised. I wish this was only because of one employee but the other staff working weren't anymore personable. The dread hung in the air like humidity, and the nice folks in line could all feel it.
Do not go here unless you're looking for a bad experience. A normal experience here is in the vast minority. I will not return and I will tell anyone in that area or beyond to avoid this place.

I was mailing out 46 invitations for my wedding and I was requesting that the envelopes be hand-canceled to avoid going through the machine, and the clerk was very rude and refused because “I hadn’t paid for it” and that there was nothing “important enough” in the envelopes to not go through the machine. I didn’t know I had to pay for this in advance, but I said that I would be happy to pay whatever it cost to get them hand-canceled. She still refused and so I gave up and handed them to her. As I was walking out, the clerk went to the other person working at the counter and called me “Bridezilla” — which was completely uncalled for and so unprofessional. She said this in front of other customers as well. I am hoping our guests receive the invitations and that they didn’t end up in the trash at the post office.

Oof. Customer service is completely missing from the equation. The woman behind the counter wandered around for minutes trying to find stamps and couldn’t find any sets of stamps to sell. At the post office. They couldn’t find stamps. I’ll repeat that another time. They didn’t have stamps to sell at the post office.

I've gone twice in the past two weeks and the counter has been closed at 3:45. When I asked this is the new norm I just got a snotty response from the lady and no answer to my second question..

Terrible place to send mail. They haven’t gotten a shipment for any of their postal supplies in months and to add onto that some of the worst service I’ve seen from any establishment. I understand the lack of supplies completely but paired with socially incompetent people made the experience nauseating. The black haired lady with a bob especially.

The woman working there was so kind and helpful. She had such positive attitude and made us feel seen. Unfortunately, we didn’t get her name. This was the best service we received from any post office.

I understand it can be difficult for the holidays, but good customer service can go a long way. Honestly, it has been a long while since I was brush away.

We scheduled a first time passport appointment a month ago, however day of they called us and cancelled. We scheduled another and arrived early to the appointment. We weren't aware that the form had to be filled out in advance. While there was only one worker at the counter we waited in line until 10 mins after the scheduled time to be seen. The worker was rude and clearly had an attitude, told us that we had to have the form filled out and told us to reschedule once again. I explained that we arrived early and have already had to reschedule, however said their hands were tied, they proceeded to tell the next customer who was also there for a first time passport that they had a few minutes to fill out the paperwork.

Very poor treatment here. The female clerk with the medium length dark hair was very insulting. I was the only person in the post office when I asked for help sending a package. "I can't do it for you" she said dismissively. Yeah, I know, I'm not asking for that. I just wanted to know about a few of their different options. She started talking over me and interrupting me and eventually started talking very slowly and with pronounced enunciation as if I was hard of hearing. "Press. The. Red. Button. Red. Means. Noooooo". I felt so uncomfortable and embarrassed. Eventually I left without sending my package but with an estimate that I hadn't asked for and didn't want. I ended up going to UPS on Regent and they sent off my package quickly and without any trouble. Price was about the same, too.
