First off, I went there to acquire some h20. I typed in the correct code however, I was given a capri sun, which was quite thirst quenching, however it wasn’t what I asked for. In addition, the amount of high school students was astronomical. They really should be in class. The hanging wires above my head was not the ideal aesthetic. They also were missing countless ceiling tiles.

I went to this establishment and I was severely disappointed. The atmosphere of this place is atrocious, with random high schoolers everywhere making the experience very loud and chaotic. The hours are even worse, with it only being open from noon to 12:45. The food was okay, and seemed to be reasonably priced. I simply can’t get over all of the children milling around. Shouldn’t they be in school?

The special ed teacher in this school abandoned my child several times on the street in front of the school and also told my child that he can't make friends because he has special needs and she listed all his special needs. Terrible teacher. Terrible school. Zero leadership. They keep special ed kids cooped up in a class when they should be taught in the least restrictive environment by law. Students of color especially special ed students of color are not supported according to their specific needs in this school. The special ed. teachers have not been trained in current special ed. practices and have no idea how to teach children with autism and other significant special needs. If you have a child that's an independent learner who happens to be Causian, he/she may do well in this school. All the teachers and principals happen to be Caucasian. There was a staff member that used a racial slur a few weeks ago involving a student of color and that staff member is still at that school.

I have been to Madison West for a number of athletic and non-athletic events. The school is older, but is clean and tidy inside. They have managed to get quite a few classrooms, media and other activity rooms into such a small urban footprint. We were there for a varsity basketball game and had a lot of fun. It was $5/adult for the game and they offered a variety of snacks at the concession stand throughout the event. The concessions were reasonably priced for everyone to enjoy. There was plenty of bleacher seating for the game. Home team and guest team were able to sit in designated areas. The cheer leading squads from both teams were entertaining to watch and lifted the spirits of their respective crowds. Reggie the mascot was not in attendance for West High and that was a little bit of a bummer. The kids like to see Reggie and get their photo taken. This high school offers top notch classes with great instructors. They have quite a variety of non-academic opportunities for our students too. Lots of clubs and athletic activities to get involved in. The graduation rate is high and the rate of students who go (and complete college level academics) is also very high.
