We had booked a room for a vacation weekend. Two hours before check in time the owners called us saying the room was infested with bugs and they had no other rooms available. How did they not know there was a problem much earlier and why hadn’t they contacted us much sooner so that we could have made other arrangements? They ruined our weekend plans.Do not stay there.

Maiden Rock Inn was our choice as our place to stay for 3 nights while experiencing the beauty and towns around Lake Pepin on a Harley trip with another couple. We were delighted and intrigued from the time we got there! Gary and Jennifer have created an amazing space to invite people into their home while sharing the talent that bubbles out from them. They are wonderful hosts, from Jennifer’s amazing breakfasts to Gary’s gift of welcoming and serving, not to mention their obedient and cute little dog, we felt very at home in their spacious gathering room where we enjoyed Gary’s album collection and played card games with our friends. We stayed in the Red Clay room and our friends stayed in the Sun Shower room, both so comfortable and delightful as they showcased Jennifer’s talent of ideas and decorating. It seemed like there was a surprise around every corner from the handcrafted stairs made by Gary, a master stair builder, to what they are doing together in their new Bergdahl Hall, we could have lost ourselves there for days! Meeting these two and enjoying their home has been a gift! ❤️

My Husband and I booked a stay at The Maiden Rock Inn for our 12 Yr Wedding Anniversary Weekend and we stayed in the Red Clay Room, The hosts here are so friendly and kind and accomodating, You can clearly see their love for the Arts and attention to detail thru out the Historic Property every direction you look there is something cool and well thought out and placed around the building. I had a broken foot and was in a boot and they were very accomodating and let us eat Breakfast in their Fireplace room on the same floor as our room. My husband walked up to the roof and got a photo of the view from there and is a really pretty view from there as well. Bed was very comfortable as were the chairs in our room and the clawfoot was beautiful we loved it and wished could take it home. Breakfast was great. And when we were getting stuff ready to check out we left our door open and their adorable little dog came in and camped out on the bed so we made a good friend. This is in a beautiful area of Wisconsin near Lake Pepin and is a very cool building with great hosts and is very comfortable. We would recommend it to anyone and if ever traveling that way again would love to be able to visit there again.

We had a great stay at the Maiden Rock Inn! It's truly impressive what they have done, taking an old schoolhouse and turning it into a unique and comfortable home away from home. It was fun to see the detail put into decorating the bedrooms and common areas. Even the bathroom had a fun surprise in the shower curtain. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. It would be worth going there just for the breakfast! Yum! Gary and Jennifer are terrific hosts and we would love to stay there again sometime.

What a wonderfully unexpected stay. We don't usually do B&B stays but this was amazing. Hospitality was lovely. If you love history this is it. Food was so good. It is clean and friendly. Highly recommend it for those that enjoy a personal experience.

My daughter and I spent the night at Maiden Rock Inn for a wedding in town. It’s amazing what the owners have done with the building! So many cool things to look at. In the morning, Gary put on our favorite record and they made us a wonderful breakfast. It was clean and comfortable. The owners thought of all the little extras as well. I would highly recommend and hope to come back with a group of friends.

We had such an amazing stay at Maiden Rock Inn! This was our first bed and breakfast experience and it could not have been better. We were given the full tour upon arrival and were blown away! The building itself is incredible and absolutely massive, it is a converted schoolhouse. There are 4 guest rooms, multiple common areas, and a massive gym they plan to turn into an event space! We stayed in the grotto room, it was clean, beautiful, and so comfortable! We ended our evening with a complimentary bottle of wine on the rooftop, and woke up to a delicious breakfast. We cannot say enough good things about this place, all designed and crafted by Gary and Jennifer. Thank you so much for sharing your space with us!

Gary was a great host. The room we had (Red Clay) was a good size and very comfortable. Breakfasts were very good. The woodwork in the whole place is very well done. Restoration is under way, so as an example we entered through a side door, as the main door had scaffolding in front of it. Very small accomidation. It is a great place now, it will really be fantastic when done. All the rooms are completely restored, so there was no inconvenience there

My wife and I stumbled upon the Maiden Rock Inn about ten years ago, and vowed that one day, we’d stay there. In July of this year I found myself showing my art at the Stockholm Art Fair, just down the road. It was the perfect reason to stay at Maiden Rock! We stayed on a Friday night. Gary, the owner, got us checked in quickly, and found time to give us a quick tour of the whole building, all 16,000 square feet of it, that he and his wife had restored. It’s phenomenal! The breakfast that he made on Saturday morning was delicious, hearty, and made with local ingredients. The building is stunning. What they’ve done in the past 27 years yields a B&B that is gorgeous, beautiful and fun. Rooms are decorated with whimsical items from the past, hand made curtains and linens, and period furniture. You could spend hours just exploring your own room!Just go. You won’t regret it. We will return!

Came down to the Maiden Rock Inn for a Sunday evening get away from the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. Had a little hiccup getting checked in for our room but it all got sorted out quickly. The proprietor, Gary, was super friendly and welcoming, and showed us around to help us get acclimated to the building. They’re just getting going again after the Covid hiatus. Lots of common area spaces for guests to sit and relax or listen to music as we did, using their turntable. Had a really nice continental breakfast in the morning. Room was clean and comfortable.

Lovely rooms. A little dusty at the entrance; his wife has been sick for a while. When she is back, the breakfasts will be better. The host is a wonderful guy, very engaging. I would recommend this place to about anyone.
