Very nice seating area, especially with the fireplace. And a great view of the lake. Friendly staff. Very nice clean bathrooms.Parking: Small, awkward parking lot, but there is additional parking across the street.

Go to Dixie's if you want a cup of coffee in an attractive, clean setting, but forget about Dixie's for lunch. I've been there many times, and the ambience is great, but the food is not. The lunch offerings are a panini of the day with a soup of the day, but the restaurant has run out of the daily specials before closing time on more than one occasion I've been there. At 1pm today, I got the very last serving of soup in the whole place, a "steak and ale soup" which had the appearance and consistency of a pale, congealed gravy. Several customers came in after me, and we could hear people say, "What? No soup?" (After all, this is January in northern Wisconsin!) As for the paninis, the meat in them is consistently grisly and on the tough side. Although at least 3 women work there, it always seems to take them longer than you'd think to make a panini, and today was no exception. The best part of lunch at Dixie's is the potato chips.

Great location! Right on a lake. A perfect place for a quick light bite. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend a smoothie!

The place is beautiful! Wonderful open sitting area looking at the water. We had gotten a specialty drink, vanilla latte, breakfast burrito, and a breakfast sandwich. All were wonderful with flavor and seemed like high quality ingredients. When we come back up here we will definitely stop again

Such a beautiful, cozy place to have coffee and something to eat. You are able to sit inside and look out onto the water. We had a specialty drink and a latte. Both had great flavor. We had the breakfast burrito and sandwich which also had great flavor and seemed to be made with high quality ingredients. We will definitely stop there again!

The view is like a painting. Avoid busy summer weekends if possible, get her on the off season and it's cozy and quiet!

Had a breve latte (perfect) only, but the real gift was the peaceful easy vibe for me on their backyard pier. Snagged one of my all time favorite pics while soaking up sunshine…powerful memory of total ZEN.

Every single aspect of this cute little coffee house was perfect. The food, the coffee, the views, the ambiance, the service - all fantastic! We went three times in one weekend while in Manitowish waters for a wedding. Our group got a variety of different coffees, some hot some iced. Ranging from cold brews and iced coffees to pumpkin spice lattes - all were great! We also loved the breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos. We're all from larger cities where the prices are way too high for the mediocre quality of the food, drinks, and service. Dixie's blew us away! 10/10.

Coffee was only OK. Ordered multiple drinks and nothing was marked and staff didn't indicate what was in each cup. This place has ZERO personality and the ambiance is null. Go to Boulder Junction Coffee Company if you're looking for a memorable experience.

EDIT/UPDATE per management response: Wait, so Liz and Dick Uihlein owned a dog named Dixie? One would imagine they whistled [for] Dixie when summonsing her? Unreal. Because they had a dog (questionably) named Dixie, does not imply they should name their coffee shop accordingly. This is not MBA level stuff. Next time you're tempted to "gather and grab a bite to eat or a little extra caffeine" at Dixie's, read this first, and know where your money might be going: further reading: ***** Who tf names a coffee shop in the far-flung northwoods of Wisconsin "Dixie's"?? If this isn't a thinly-veiled dogwhistle, I don't suppose I know what is. Do a Google search if you aren't aware of the problematic connotations/subtext. Checking the "About" section on the website, it was devoid of any context as to the naming of the joint. Prominently displayed in the footer, however, was the ownership group: EAU Holdings "owned and operated by the Uihlein family". Wikipedia: Dixie, also known as Dixieland or Dixie's Land, is a nickname for all or part of the Southern United States. While there is no official definition of this region (and the included areas have shifted over the years), or the extent of the area it covers, most definitions include the U.S. states below the Mason-Dixon line that seceded and comprised the Confederate States of America, almost always including the Deep South.[1] The term became popularized throughout the United States by songs that nostalgically referred to the American South.
