I used to come here all the time with a friend and frequently purchase things from this place. Over time I began to realize how bad of a place this is for serious collectors. Alex, the owner is super sketchy and loves to change prices while you are checking out. There has been multiple occasions where I had a stack of games and he would go on ebay to price check resulting in him sticking higher prices on some the games in my pile before I could check out. I came in here once because he had a rare $200 SNES game i wanted but got turned off when i watched him take sandpaper to the pins of the cartridge and claim he was "cleaning it". He refuses to pay more than 40% of what something is worth when trading in, once offering me $15 per super famicom console (i had 4 fully restored and repaired consoles). Alex wont be getting my buisness anymore, at the very most I would come in here to find new games before buying them for less and in better condition on Ebay. If you want a good local store experience do yourself a favor and drive to vanguard video in Oconomowoc. Steve will pay you more, has better prices and is a significantly better person.

There is a lot of cool stuff here and a laid back vibe. It's easy to be nostalgic when seeing stuff I grew up with like different Nintendo & other gaming systems and games (i.e. original NES console, Super NES, Sega Genesis, etc.) Also a good selection of trading cards, board games, action figures, comic books, graphic novels, etc. There is also an incredible Lego selection -unopened sets spawning across different eras. The best selection of Legos in metro area other than| the Lego Store of course. The owner, Alex, is chill AF and really knowledgeable about the stuff he sells.

Awesome store that makes me feel young again. Alex is cool AF and knows what he be talking about. He's reasonable, flexible, intelligent and funny and a super nice guy. From Lego to comics to sports cards to Super NES and Pokémon and He-Man (GI Joe, SW figures, etc.), this place can bait one into spending a good chunk of time there while reliving their childhood and/or sharing parts of it with their own children.Do yourself a favor a peep it. You won't be sorry.

I had a lot of time to kill one day down in Mequon so I decided to stop by Universal Collectables and was VERY glad I did! It's a small local little place, a bit messy and cramped BUT clean. The single individual who was working there, who I think might be the owner was chatty, nice and cool to talk to! The selection of Collectables is very big and on my opinion priced fairly! I liked Universal Collectables and am glad I stopped by when I was down in the area and would suggest others stop by as well!Pictures are of the outside of the store and cool things I got!

The ownership is knowledgeable and fair.Every question our family had, the owner knew and could help us further research. The prices charged for items bought and the prices traded in were both fair and reasonable. Thank you for earning our respect and loyalty. We will continue to come back as we trust you and what you do.

Pros: Fair/Good prices on a majority of the items. Amazing selection of DVDs, Magic the Gathering cards, and Video Games. I did get a good deal on a Pokemon card tin ?Cons: Place smelled like cigarettes and secondhand smoke, I found the Pokemon cards overpriced (like 25 cents for a SwSh set common), some of the video game pricing makes no sense for Ys Adventure which is one of the rarest PSP games was like $160 while Pokemon HeartGold was $200 which sold way more copies and is thus less rare.
