I don't typically write reviews. But unfortunately this was an abysmal experience. The front desk attendants are incredibly inappropriate, perhaps the rudest in a banking service capacity. Among other service items including insisting my account was a different type and requiring a fee of $10 per check (for 1 check) and then insisting on a 1 hour wait time to see a business representative, when I was one of two people in the bank (if I left, then there was also not option to schedule a time), what set it over the edge is observing them both laugh at a handicapped man whose only mistake was asking about the difference in deposit and withdrawal options. The rep indicated he could not help at BMO in general, until the man indicated that BMO does provide the service. Then he cut him off with "well, I can't help you", rolled his eyes at his associate and then proceeded to laugh at him as he struggled out of the space. The man got understandably flustered. When the man asked he not laugh, the front desk rep responded "I'm not laughing at you. I don't know what the problem is". I have never come across this type of unfortunate scenario. Part of me wonders if I inadvertently stumbled across a "how to never behave in a professional setting". Really unfortunate. I'm sure they have cameras everywhere so perhaps exchanges were captured. Also all the information he provided on my account type was incorrect, and he would not do anything about verifying a correction, even when I showed the correct information, which has been as such since August 2022. I am switching banks. Update: I just stopped into Huntington, and they restored my faith in financial assistance. Checks were fast, service was friendly and everyone greeted me warmly. Night and day.

Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a "bank." I have called over TWENTY times and no answer. Luckily, it ended up being the negligence of the staff rather than a genuine banking issues, but I am still leaving this bank. Thank GOD I only have a 13 month CD here. Switching banks ASAP and I suggest, if you are a BMO customer, you do the same. Never have I ever seen such negligence and mishandling of customer complaints. Their customer service is all located overseas and they do not speak fluent enough English to be able to communicate and understand callers. Worst possible customer service imaginable; do not trust a word that comes out of their mouths nor any refutes that they use to attack honest, dissatisfied customers. Will be filing a formal complaint with corporate.

So their mortgage group is a pain in your you know what. They'll wait until 24 hours before close to tell you they need a third copy of documents you already sent them on accounts they knew about during pre-approval. They'll question why the principle went down after you made a normal payment, question where the money came from, meaning you have to prove to them for the fourth time now that you have a job that makes the same as it did the first, second, and third time you provided these statements. Even if you do your checking with them, and they see your paychecks, you have to fetch the documents. Theyre like a cartoon evildoer rubbing their nipples, making you dance for them laughing the entire way. The mortgage experience will be my last with BMO. I am closing my checking account. Would rate zero stars if I could

This was my first time in the new, fancy tower!Had to quick pop in for a cashiers check. I know, who needs checks these days? I think I've written maybe five in my life time... how very millennial of me. Hence my needing to stop here as I don't have a check book of my own. Anyway, the new building is lovely, clean and inviting. A massive upgrade from the previous building that looks like it came straight out of the 70s. The bank is located on the first floor of this glass building and feels inviting as you walk in. I sat down at the desk of a friendly employee named Tom. What a gent. I'm actually one who loves small talk with strangers (especially these days) and he was just so pleasant! He promptly set me up with my needed cashiers check. I figured it was about time I got my own stack of personal checks, for the one off times like these, so Tom also got those ordered for me, free of charge. A trip to the bank isn't anyone's favorite errand but this new, luxury location doesn't make it so bad!

I have been a BMO customer for 10+ years. I had a charge on my card for $40 dollars which I never received a product. The bank in no way would help me dispute the charge. I kept thinking what if the charge was for $1000 dollars and the bank just said sorry, nothing we can do. I was told by a Senior Banker at another branch they would easily credit me the $40 dollars. He said the bank makes more money on my direct deposits and debit cards. This branch would do nothing to help me. Not only are their staff completely rude but all of the "Customer Service" staff are extremely rude. I find it very sad that after being with a banking institution for as long as I have they would work with me in some way to resolve this. Again it was over $40 dollars. I would take your business elsewhere if you want a bank that will stand behind you. They are just going to overcharge you on everything. Give you horrible customer service. In the end, eat you up, take your charges and spit you out to another bank. I will never and suggest you never bank with BMO. In addition, you will get nothing from this branch and the rude employees they have working there. I had to laugh looking through their other reviews. They were mostly about the horrible customer service. The only positive ones were their wonderful Christmas display that is 10 years old. You can easily go to the mall to see a better one. Kudos to you BMO for the only thing customer like about your bank is your outdated Christmas display!

No real complaints about this BMO Harris location. I come here almost exclusively because it has the foreign currency desk, and those people are really helpful. If you hold an account with BMO, you can buy Euros here any time - no need to call ahead, which is convenient. Obviously, you'll get the best rate by using an ATM wherever you're going but it's good to have at least some cash on hand. I've ordered non-Euro currency a few times too, and found it to be quick and painless. My order for Polish Zlotys was placed on Wednesday and was ready to be picked up Thursday PM. If you're driving, know that there are dedicated spaces in their structure for customers, and it's free for something like 30-60 minutes.

As far as banks go, I would say this one is the best. I always get treated well when I am there and if I need to talk to a personal banker they are usually available within minutes. Great hours in general, and they have video tellers when they aren't open yet. I will say that I agree with others who say that they are trying to "sell" things a little too hard. When I went through the drive through I was told I should make a savings account, or that I should look into overdraft protection, or this and that. This has happened multiple times and I feel like no one takes note of my previous responses. Also, if I try to get a personal check made available they will tell me they no longer do that, but that I can cash it and then put it in my account. Seems a little round-about to me. Those problems are mainly corporate, though, and I feel that this branch takes great care of their customers.

Since M&I became BMO Harris there is zero customer service and all the employees are instructed to sell you something rather then pay attention to customer transactions. I have their credit card which I had before they took over M&I Bank. I only use two cards and one of them is American Express. In the years I have used these cards I have called only twice to dispute a transaction. One with American Express ( three months ago) and once with BMO Harris (3 days ago). American Express was right on it assuring me they would address it with the merchant, gave me instant credit for the transaction amount and notified me of the results. BMO Harris asked if I had notified the merchant, said I should try to resolve it myself and if I couldn't get anywhere with them, BMO would TRY to dispute it. They offered to put a note on my account and I should call back in a few days. My credit cards are always paid in full and on time and I have had these cards for 20 years. I tried calling the branch about the situation and got the same song and dance with the banker saying a different company was taking over the credit cards. Then the banker tried to sell me different products to "Fit my banking needs"!!! I guess a $20,000.00 line of credit on my card is peanuts to them as BMO is known for their favoritism of high dollar clients and bigger businesses. Their motto of "We are here to help" is pretty laughable. I asked a teller why they are constantly pushing products that do not in many cases apply to a customers needs. She said they are called referrals and if the employees do not meet their numbers ( referrals ), they are written up and could be fired. So, if you are looking for good customer service, don't look for it at BMO Harris.

BMO Harris- Thank you for continuing the long tradition of the annual Stieff exhibit. This tradition among my family would be missed if you did not continue. Lots of smiles on children's faces make all the difference. Keep it up!

Kudos to BMO Harris Bank for their annual Christmas Steif Animal display that is open to the public!
