We trekked up to the north shore to try this Siciliano ristorante. We, being my 12-year-old son and me, the guy who lived in Italy for four years. My son is a pizza margarita aficianato. His review was simply, "this is a 9 for Milwaukee and a 6 or 7 for Italia." I also had a pizza (parmigiana e melanzana). The sauce was outstanding. The crust was near perfect as well. The cheese was not top shelf, but still tasty. We had the melanzane fritte as an appetizer. Again, the sauce was unbelievable (we even bought two jars on our way out). The ambience was a tad noisy, but that isn't the restaurant's fault. What's up with Midwestern women thinking everything everyone says at their table calls for feigned belly laughs? My ears are still ringing. Our server was kind and clearly overworked. The place was packed and everyone seemed to be having a great time. Carini's is a great place. I would give it a 5 star but I have had better pizza in two other Wisconsin places. Still, give it a try. I would go back without hesitation.

Was blown away by this place. It looks like something you'd pass 9 out of 10 times, but that 1 time you go in will be so worth it. The food was absolutely amazing - carbonara was crazy flavorful but not overly heavy, bolognese was phenomenal, mussels had an unbelievable broth and the canolis were perfect and not overly sweet. And our server Isabela was one of the best we've ever had. Amazing place that I'd recommend to anyone.

Cannot rate the food as we waited over 20 minutes for a server to come to our table with no avail so we left. They literally served an empty table next to us with waters before anyone even greeted us. As we left we let the hostess know that no one stopped by our tables for over 20 minutes and they said, “thanks for letting us know”. They also cancelled my reservation on Open Table so I couldn’t post my review there. Went to a different establishment and would never return based on service. Don’t go here ?

I went to tonight and was kind of disappointed. Wow did they raise their prices. The seafood pasta I used to always get was $18 a few years ago and now it’s $35. That’s insane.Their house wine is $9 a glass which I think is expensive for house wine. I guess I always thought “house” meant cheaper. The bread they gave us wasn’t even warm. The entrees don’t come with a side salad or anything. I’d say at least a third of the dishes are near or over $30 and you can’t throw in a side salad or cup of soup? This was our second choice after Harry’s Bar & Grill had a 45 minute wait and now I see why.

I had heard so many wonderful things about Carini's that we made the long drive across the city to check it out for ourselves. For a Saturday night they were not terribly busy although they did seem to be doing a brisk takeout business for pizza. We waited about 15 minutes for someone to bring water and take our order. We started with bruschetta; this was fine. Tomatoes aren't in season but Carini's enhances the current crop well and this was tasty. We then had salads. We felt that $10.00 each for the house salad - basically a side salad - was a bit steep. We each had a pasta dish - bolognese for me and spaghetti with meatballs for my husband. Again, for what these dishes were the price was a bit high. The pasta was fine but nothing exceptional. Overall we had an enjoyable evening out but we won't be back.

Great Italian food, the mozzarella marinera was amazing, so was the bread oil and cheese. Had the lamb chops which were very good. Would recommend.

We had a wonderful dinner. The food was very slow to be delivered. You must be prepared to wait once you order. I believe we waited over 30 mins for pizza and salad. Which is unusual for a 90 second cook for the pizza.

We've been wanting to go here for years and finally got the chance. We got here early (3pm), and was the only table, but heard nonstop reservations being taken for 5pm onward. Service was quick and pleasant. There was a decent wine list, with wine both by the glass or by the bottle. They have an amazing wood fire oven, which you can see easily just walking in the door. Gluten free pizza crust is available sporadically (it was not the day we ate here). They do have gluten free pasta available for an additional $5 charge. We both got Nonna's Bolognese (one gluten free, one regular) and it was delicious. I scraped my plate clean. My husband also got a freshly filled canoli for desert, and I stole some of the filling - it was traditional and delicious. Is it a little expensive? Yes. Is it 100% worth it? YES!Dietary restrictions: Some gluten free options available

Tried this for the first time and absolutely loved it! We had appetizers through dessert, and all of it was excellent. The restaurant is smaller and noisy, but lots of energy. We'll definitely be back!
