Service was good but I asked for a zigzag part and she made it seem like she could do it and when he came down to do it, it just looked it all messed up and uneven and I wish I would’ve never paid $120 for a messed up hairstyle….Service: Braids

Horrible service. Left a 14 YEAR OLD GIRL. In front of another establishment without waiting for her ride to pick her up. Doesn't grease scalp, nor are they polite. -10/10. I am very unsatisfied with my service. Also, she was an hour late with my appointment & also rushed me to use the bathroom telling me "I don't have time for this ". This establishment is very unprofessional and I DO NOT recommend this to anyone, especially if you have a young child/teen.

My braids was a bunch of mess. I asked for very small braids this is what she did. Parts and braids were scattered about. Celestine had a very nasty and unprofessional attitude. Poor business sense. I didn’t like the braids she cussed me and refused a refund or a correction. Do not patronize Celestine African hair braiding at 8330 W Appleton.Services: Hairstyling

I took both of my daughters to get their hair braided on Sunday April 29 today is April 24. They hair is ruined twist came apart. They were not willing to fix it. They were rude and disrespectful. Telling me that from Sunday til today is 8 days and they only fix within seven days.

I have been going to Celestine's African Hair Braiding for the past three years for hair braiding. I have had mostly positive experiences here; however, the service provided during my last visit prompted me to write a review.I had requested for kinky twists which I have done multiple times in the past. This particular time, Affoua Koukou offered to do my braids. From the start of the appointment, she had commented that she was busy and seemed rushed to do my hair. She charged me $160 to provide me with the hair style that I requested. I showed her two separate pictures of what I wanted and she assured me that she could do it. After she finished my braiding, I was disappointed with the results. The braids that I received were bigger than the picture that I showed her. My hair looked thin and was not as full as I had previously had. However, since I patronized this place for a long time, I decided to give the hair style a chance. After six days my hair started frizzing out of my braids. Every night I wore a silk cap to protect my braids. I had put gel on my braids to prevent the hair from frizzing; however, despite this care my hair continued to frizz. I decided to call the hair shop to see if there was something I could do to prevent my hair from frizzing, or work with me to provide a better service. When I called Affoua Koukou, she was rude and unprofessional. She yelled at me that it was my fault for the braids coming out, she refused to take any responsibility for my service, and then hung up the phone while I was talking. At no time did I ever raise my voice at her. I spoke to her a calm manner, trying to describe what issues I had with the service. Not only did she yell at me, but she also interrupted me numerous times to tell me that it was my fault for the results that I got.As a loyal patron, I feel disrespected by the behavior of this business and its workers. To be fair, this is not a reflection of African businesses. I have had great experiences at other African hair braiding places like Mama Cisse’s African Hair Braiding. Business owners deserve as much respect as the patrons that go to them. I am a school professional that was anticipating that I would be able to wear my braids for the rest of the school term. I do not have money to spend on having my braids redone every month. It is sad and disappointing that this happened and Celestine Hair Braiding deserves to know that they lost the business of a loyal customer.
