I visited Francesca’s today looking to buy a pair of sunglasses. Upon entering the store, I wasn’t greeted or acknowledged, which already felt unwelcoming. Near the entrance, I found a display of sunglasses with a sign above it that read something like “50% off all accessories, jewelry.” Based on that sign, I picked up two pairs priced at $16 each and proceeded to browse before heading to the register.
At checkout, my total was $29, so I asked which sunglasses in the store were 50% off. The cashier bluntly said, “None of them, what are you talking about?” I pointed out the sign, and she and her coworker responded that it was an old sign. I mentioned that it should probably be taken down, to which the cashier responded by tossing my bag onto the counter and walking away toward the sunglasses display. Her coworker offered a brief apology.
As she returned, the original cashier said loudly, “This is the only sign in here that says 50% off when all the others say 30%, so obviously this is wrong.” I responded calmly that I don’t work there and wouldn’t know the signage was incorrect—I had only come in to buy sunglasses. At that point, I decided I no longer wanted to make the purchase and walked back in to return the items.
When I returned, she asked, “Did you want your receipt?” I said, “No, I’d like to return them.” As I was folding the shopping bag to hand it back, she snatched it from my hand and said, “I’ll take that back since you’re not buying anything.” I then asked her directly if there was something she’d like to talk about, because her attitude was unnecessary and confusing. Her response was, “I’m fine—you’re just projecting.”
I remained calm the entire time—never raised my voice, never used inappropriate language—but the treatment I received was extremely disappointing. I understand everyone has tough days, but nothing excuses that level of rudeness, especially in a customer service role. The comment “I’m just one person” may be true, but unfortunately, it’s not a justification for treating customers poorly, and there was an additional cashier. It was never about the money or the discount—it was about the disrespect.
Judging by other reviews, this may not be an isolated experience. I hope the store takes this kind of feedback seriously and works on improving their customer service. I’m glad I was able to take my business next door to Warby Parker instead.

The store clerk is super rude (I think she has red hair). I asked her a simple question and she ignored me. I really like the store but will not be entering because of her.

The two sales associates were no help at all. I kindly asked them if they had my size in a specific sweater. One girl was on a personal call completely ignoring me and the other girl was very rude and acted bothered by me needing help.

The customer service here is great! Elizabeth was working while I was there shopping. An elderly woman came in looking to have an old necklace replaced or fixed because it was broken. She insisted she bought it at Francesca’s. Elizabeth kindly explained to her that the necklace definitely wasn’t from their store but she would be more than happy to fix it. She then fixed the elderly woman’s necklace and you could tell it completely made her day. She was so grateful. Elizabeth was clearly very busy during all of this. I was in there shopping for about 45 minutes. She was running around the whole time trying to put out new clothes having to rearrange things to make room. Despite being stressed out, she still kept a smile on her face and helped the elderly woman. We need more people in this world like Elizabeth ❤️

Very rude attendant. I am a good, loyal customer, however, I took items back within the 21 day return policy with tags in tact, etc... and was treated extremely unprofessionally. This is the 2nd experience at this location with this very rude clerk. I will not be back.
