UPDATE 1/19: Owner/Manager responded and took care of the problem. Called 12/19 for a prime rib order pickup on 12/22. Illness caused plans to change, so I called morning of 12/22 to cancel and I asked about deposit refund/policy. I was told then that "they had a system for this" and they would keep my name in the back office so I could use that $25 for a future order. At this moment, had I been told differently, I may have kept the order and frozen it or grabbed something else. My brother was even considering grabbing it, but since I had the $25 to use later, I figured we could just keep that there for NY/St. Pats, etc. I then called back 1/5 and 1/6 and was told the policy is actually "no refunds, no credits on Christmas orders". The woman I spoke to was polite and apologetic but I was told two different things and the end result is I'm out $25 where I don't think I should be. I should either have that back or a frozen rib in my freezer. Wish I could comment on the meat/service.

Took home the lasagna bolognese. Delicious, my husband and I thought it was the best we have ever had. He wanted to add sauce to it and I said no and we both agreed it was good without doctoring it up. Love their steaks too.

Kettle Range is a great little butcher. Skip the big chain-grocery stores (Sendiks excluded) and get you hands on some high-quality meat.In addition to great fresh steaks and burgers, they also sell frozen bison, elk, and a variety of other refrigerated and frozen meats. We love the ground bison. It’s lean and super flavorful. We also buy fresh salmon and eggs frequently. The taste of their eggs is also superior to chain-store-bought eggs. I’m not a fan of their fresh sausages for some reason, but it’s probably just a personal preference. The staff is super friendly, prompt, and attentive. They are always prepared to provide thoughtful guidance if you need help deciding what to get. Their prices reflect the quality of their product and service.

This place is amazing. I have always received high quality brisket and short ribs. If they don't have what I need, someone disappears for 5 minutes and comes back with the perfect cut of meat. I'm a loyalist.

ELM Grove location has great employees! I love the grass fed dry aged burger patty and the salmon dip (yes....fish, when is stock), is the best I've had.

Just ate the pork belly steam buns meal from last weekend. Delicious!!! Hubby cooked...simple to make! Every one of your meals are delicious but this is the first time we had this particular meal. Definitely in the top 3 of the dinner kits!

I will never buy my meat anywhere else again! It used to be so difficult to find good quality, local meat (let alone to understand what cuts were useful for what purpose) and now both of those problems are solved because of Kettle Range's high quality and incredible customer service! Their ready made meals have also saved me on many nights when I don't have time to cook!

Well, I've given this place the rigamarole. I've purchased quite a few items and they were OK, but now my verdict is final. All the Yelp hul·la·ba·loo, hmm, I must be wrong. But no, I'm not. I'm no amateur when it comes to butchering or sausage making. With that preface, I purchased some breakfast sausages and bulk Italian. Some standard fare to see what they have to offer, and maybe, just maybe, I'll find something new and spectacular. I found something new all right. WTH are the spices in that breakfast sausage?? The meat was good and cased up well, but they tasted weird as hell. Now, I'm afraid to f up a recipe with that bulk Italian sausage. You know, in case that's weird AF too. They are no bargain by any means. There are plenty of other butcher shops that offer quality product, and there are no worries of taste weirdness and disappointment. I say Ray's, Bunzels and Rupenas to name a few. Never been surprised by them before, just good stuff. Sorry, KRM, I wanted to love ya, but I was just "weirded" out.

Very friendly staff and nice extras (sauces, wood chips, soups, etc.) in addition to a variety of meats. Dry aged steaks and chops, too.

Kettle has the highest quality pasture raised meat in the greater Milwaukee area. I don't settle for less. Also, they sell Yuppie Farm eggs (best local eggs, imo...the darkest orange yokes) for under 4 bucks a dozen. An essential establishment if you're a healthy meat eater.
