This is in the old Toys R Us local. I don't know what took me so long to get here. It is a Hispanic grocery store with everything you could possibly want. There was fresh fruit and veggies, a meat counter, and a hot food area. There was even a chamoy place in the front. The place was very clean and not congested like other grocers. We for sure will be back.

Decent Hispanic grocery store in a former Toys R Us building. We weren't overly impressed with the look and variety of produce but the meat counter looked really good. They have all the staples but not a ton of variety. Prices were on par with places like Cermak. In addition to groceries, they have several stalls - cell phone store, wire transfers, a hot bar/cafe, an ice cream stand and more. Overall a-ok.

I Work across the street, been going over there to get change for a while, thought it was cool until today...was racial profiled and I manage a store. Very hurtful to see this. I never had a problem before until this guy said he couldn't give change. Yet I just saw someone receive change right before me. Just do better!

This grocery store has a bit of something for everyone. There is a huge selection of Hispanic foods, including a large selection of cacti, cleaned and cut or raw. They have 4-5 types of Oaxaca cheese. They have freshly fried cicharrones. They have some gifts. They have an insurance and cell phone kiosk inside, as well as a wire transfer site. They also have a massive and entertaining selection of birthday candles that spin and sing. Check it out.

I had Monterrey Market prepare food for my daughter's graduation party. They put together a chips, salsa, and guacamole bar, and fajita bar for 50 people. We got the chicken and brisket for the meats. There was MORE than enough food for the 40 hungry teenage kids and about 20 adults at the party. Just fantastic food and great service from Jorge! Absolutely outstanding value and tons of leftovers.

I have been waiting for this store to open because I heard about it for a while now and nothing was happening to the old toys r us building so I kinda forgot about it until I drove past today to see it was finally open so I stopped. The place looked clean and bright with a nice produce department but it's no Cermak. They have a decent fresh meat counter with stacks of meat. The deli is small but it should work for most people and they do have a bakery section with the traditional Mexican treats. They have hot cooked food to go section and a cafeteria style hot table with various cooked items like carnitas, rice, PR rice, barbacoa etc etc to take home with you. The can, dry and box isles limited compared to other major grocery stores. Overall it has its pluses and minuses but for me it might be my new carnitas store since Cermak is such a haste to go to.

Just an update on my review, they are now reopened with more safeguards in place which are nice. Prices on certain items have increased significantly however. Not sure if they are temporary or permanent price changes. Nice little Mexican grocery store on the Southside. Good variety of selection of everything. Great meat department.... which is my favorite. Pricing on most stuff is very good. Small but effective produce area which has all the traditional Latino fruits and veggies. The aisles are really narrow so sometimes you have to back out to let someone through but IMO that adds to the charm of this grocery store. The have a liquor department as well as a Western Union inside. Lastly they have cooked food you can get to go....word on the street is the Tamales are the bomb. They even have a phone app for coupons with a $5 off deal the first time you use it. All the workers have been very helpful and friendly
