Apparently a repeat complaint about this YMCA no longer offering a standard fitness facility but is now a school. I wasted $$ on a Lyft ride to get here and train based on the Google description indicating it was a fitness facility. This listing is in a long overdue need of an update!

They need to call it milwaukee college prep. It is not the Ywca. We don't have a Ymca in our neighborhood any more. We have to travel far .

Closing the pool is the worst thing they could’ve done for the community! We don’t have that many decent indoor pools to choose from in Milwaukee. Even if they did want to make it into a school, the Y has classrooms and a gym, they didn’t need to close the pool to do so. I grew up with this pool. My family and I were loyal members of the Y. But it seems as if they were more concerned about making a profit than the community. Mke already has several educational institutions, Boys and Girls clubs, after school and college prep programs. Yet they felt the need to put one in the YMCA at the expense of a very popular choice of summer recreation. As a Milwaukee resident I am outraged at this decision as I feel it is ridiculous that I now must drive out to Brown Deer to go swimming! They can close our local swimming pools and stores in the inner city but won’t close nothing up there in them white folks neighborhood. What a shame!

Can anybody confirm if the pool is going to open up? This was the nicest pool of all the YMCAs and its a shame that its closed. Its almost like the YMCA doesnt want its milwaukee inner city residents to have a nice community center. The fact that I live right up the street and cant sign my daughter up for classes is terrible. Something needs to be done. When this facility was open it was my absolute favorite. It was safe, clean and vibrant. And full of LOCAL families. Bring it back!

This y is so nice my son had to go to the bathroom an they let my 6 year old son go to the bathroom the gas station an the boost mobile told my son no he couldn’t use the bathroom YMCA you guys are awesome just wanted to let u guys no how much I appreciate u!!!!! God bless u ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank u!!! ?
