Excellent bank, locally operated, wonderful customer service. Great mortgage lender that holds loans, doesn't sell off to larger banks. Best bank experience I've ever had.

This is a little embarrassing for me to admit, but I've had my account with this bank since the early 80s. It hasn't been my primary account for several years now, but I kept it open for a few reasons. If I had extra cash I would drop it in there as "fun money", and my parents had their accounts there. After my dad passed away I thought it would be easier in the unfortunate event that I was to lose my mom as well. No more. After nearly 40 years of being a loyal customer to their terrible customer service, I will be closing my account with them. My "fun money" account has just been sitting idle with about 8 bucks in it after I moved out of the area, and with the crazy year that 2020 was there wasn't really any extra to put in there. Well, without warning, last week they decided to hit me with a mysterious "Service charge" of $10. They purposely overdrafted my account, and promptly started charging me $5 a day in overdraft fees. I made 2 separate bank transfers trying to keep up with their fees. I have lost $50 trying to keep my $8 account current, that THEY overdrafted with a surprise fee. No email, no phone call, just a piece of snail mail letting me know I was overdrawn well after the fact. I assume that even though they've stolen fifty bucks from me, it isn't actually criminal. Heck, it was probably in the fine print when I signed the contract as a 13 year old kid with a paper route. But it sure as hell is unethical. And the icing on the cake of nearly 40 years of bad experiences and pathetic customer service. Good riddance.

Absolutely the best bank for first time home buyers to get their mortgage through. We had excellent communication and support throughout the entire process. Big thanks to Mario M. and David A. for helping us purchase our dream home!

Terrible service and unethical at loan closing. Changed the paperwork and terms without disclosure.

Awful customer service... had to cancel my debit card after I misplaced it and was told they wouldn't issue me a temporary card while I wait 2 weeks for my new card to me mailed to me because I "lose it too much" This is a bank. Your job is to hold the money I earned and give me access to it. Not to parent me. I talked to two different customer service reps about the situation and neither seemed to care or try to offer any alternative. One reptile told me that it's a "liability to me" for losing my card and that's why they refused to give me a temp... it's a debit card and that's why I canceled it in the first place. It's a week before Christmas and I won't be able to order any of my gifts without a card. They didn't care. I eventually told them that I will be withdrawing my money and going elsewhere. They still didn't care. I've had a bank account with equitable since I was 12 so it's a shame to go but I really don't think this bank is for average young adults who sometimes lose their cards.

We had an excellent experience with Equitable. I highly recommend them. They closed our loan in 29 days and were knowledgeable and attentive.

I got my FHA loan from Equitable. I didn't think I'd be able to get a loan but they helped make my dream a reality! Great experience!

The Equitable Bank is anything but "equitable" and is the antithesis of FAIR or IMPARTIAL! They operate a 24 hour ATM and advertise it to the masses driving down HWY 100 in Wauwatosa, but they fail to tell you that if you use their ATM and are not their customer, they can arbitrarily steal your debit card and not return it in their ATM. They did this to me last night after allowing me to make a small transaction and charging me a fee to do so, then they kept my debit card and
