I am a current resident and my car has now gotten broken into four times in the last year parked outside of the north end. Cars have even gotten broken into and stolen from inside the underground garages. Residents here are paying over $150 for a safe place to park inside and they can’t even guarantee that your car won’t be tampered with or stolen. Apparently there is a security person that patrols the area but clearly that’s not working. Mandel is too cheap to hire more security especially when just blocks away across the river is a not so great neighborhood where the criminals are coming from. Homeless bums have been sleeping in lobbies, stairwells and bathrooms as well. I would hate to be a woman living here as i would feel very unsafe. They say they “partner with” a security company and the local police but milwaukee police have bigger problems than broken car windows and bums as their resources are stretched thin. Mandel could help mitigate the problem by having more permanent security guards at night on the property, but would rather save the money and have the residents pay for the damages.

The reviews about crime are obviously true, it’s downtown Milwaukee. The talks a lot about the company they work with but access fobs working would be a better start. Whats more upsetting to me was inside my apartment I could not live comfortably. My cabinets collapsed on my arm and head multiple times and my fridge was so loud I could sleep. Management didn’t help AT ALL, essentially saying I made up these issues.

Homeless groups of people living in multiple floors of the staircase. North end doesn’t lock their doors or have any security patrol the building.. so anyone from the streets can come and go as they please through the night. Urine and garbage left throughout the staircase as well. $2000 a month with no overnight security is an interesting tactic. Management is aware of the problem and they are extremely nice people, however they won’t fix this as safety to their current residents is not an importance. Look elsewhere in the Milwaukee area- based on the response. By law, can you please hire a security guard so we can come and go safely. If you would have mentioned this major problem during the leave signing a majority of us that are here wouldn’t have moved in.It’s just a lot of “we are talking with”. 100% effective solution would be to have overnight security during the winter months. Thank you

Don’t rent here! They do not care about you as you are just another number. Fail to take care of residents and constantly have packages stolen from outside people.

The North End is a great place to live and I highly recommend it! The location is wonderful - it’s in walking distance from many bars and restaurants but also feels quiet and safe. The staff is friendly and helpful and quickly address any issue you may have. Gym and pool is included. Overall I can’t think of a reason not to give 5 stars.

I thoroughly enjoy living at the North End. Leasing agents are friendly, responsive, and accommodating. Anytime I have a maintenance problem, it’s solved on the same day. I enjoy living close to restaurants, bars, grocery stores, the Fiserv Forum, and the freeway. Highly recommend!

I was a resident of the NorthEnd for almost 3 years and it was a great place to live. Excellent location, fun amenities and primarily the staff is amazing. They address any issues in the building or maintenance problems with speed and efficiency and really care about their residents. I have not lived anywhere in any state before where the staff is so on top of things. Thank you Mardi, Jessica, Jake and Liz for being so accommodating, friendly and welcoming. I’ll miss you guys.

The North End is my first living space from a big move to MKE. I decided to live here because people seemed to actually use a good part of the huge list of amenities, so I knew I'd be meeting people at the pool, dog park, etc. It did not disappoint. Parking is a little expensive but competitive for what they offer. I ended up selling my car due to the insane walkability -- 2 grocery stores; bars, breweries, clubs; doctor's offices, labs, pharmacies; the river and lake-- all within a 20 minute walk (most within 5). My quality of life has never been higher.

My communications with the leasing office was very efficient to schedule a virtual tour initially, but the agent never contacted me again when the scheduled time comes. I would not recommend this place if you are from an out of state and unable to schedule in-person appointment at the moment.Update: After I left this review, I received an email 4 hours after my appointment to reschedule. Then the agent called me on the following day saying that I was the one who missed my appointment. Noted that my appointment was "in-person" when I emailed them three times to confirm my virtual tour. This is very unprofessional to take care of your business.

Would not recommend. Very loud and super thin walls. Pretty rowdy crowd and definitely not a safe area. Lots of random people sneak into the building and steal packages. People walk around with dogs unleashed and my dog was attacked twice by people roaming halls without dogs on leash. Parties and screaming all night. Gun shots from the crowds on water hit one of the windows one time. And there had been several other shootings since in very close proximity. Charged 400 dollars for a broken fridge door that was not broken. Lots of other buildings in Milwaukee to choose from. Lady across the hall would leave garbage outside of her door for days at a time and hallways would reek of garbage. I would avoid!

Best location and amenities in Milwaukee in my opinion. I lived in a studio in Aperture (the one above Fresh Thyme) for 15 months, got my full security deposit back, and moved to a different city temporarily. When I decided to come back to Milwaukee, I did the whole apartment search again and still chose to move back to the same exact building (upgraded to a convertible) because I liked it so much. Been back another 6 months and still love it!The Aperture building seems to be mostly people in their upper 20s - 30s without kids and keep to themselves. Personally, I haven't heard loud parties ever, and I live on the river side where there isn't any noise from Water Street. Like any apartment building, yes sometimes there are issues that are out of management's control that could happen at any downtown apartment as mentioned in other reviews, but they address and look to resolve them. Jessica in the leasing office was super helpful each time I signed or had questions.I have friends in the other buildings who also love it here and keep extending their leases. It's walking distance to the river walk and bars, has a pool, gyms, dog run, courtyards, game room, sports room, bowling alley, etc. Appliances and interior are all modern. Sometimes I hear footsteps above me if they stomp, but I don't hear my neighbors between the walls or hallway. I have also parked my car on the street (did free parking on Water St for a year and permit for 3 months) and never had problems. It's a city - just be smart and don't own a Kia or leave stuff in your car. I feel safe as a female living alone, it really is a great community and I'd say the best complex in Milwaukee downtown.

I loved my time living at The North End. You can’t beat the location - walking distance to numerous restaurants, bars, grocery stores and the Deer District. My unit was great, it had lots of natural light and storage space. I especially loved the big balcony that overlooked the river. The management and maintenance teams were always very friendly and easy to work with and fixed issues in a timely manner. I would highly recommend The North End Apartments.

The leasing team goes above and beyond for their residents! I had a mattress delivery get delayed and they were able to help get the mattress in my unit as I was not home for the rescheduled delivery. The complex itself is fantastic, there are so many amenities and the location is great. My unit was so clean it felt like no one had ever lived in it before I moved in! If you are looking for an apartment in Milwaukee, I highly recommend the North End!

Absolutely do not rent here. Please read if you’re even considering it. To say the area isn’t the safest is an understatement - gun shots can often be heard, even hitting windows of the building. Cars have been stolen directly from our “secured” garage with management not taking any action, they wouldn’t even install cameras. They claim to have security patrolling but never once have I seen them. The people living here are so incredibly noisy and the walls are thin. People don’t clean up after their dogs or even walk them on a leash. My roommate and I were extremely tidy, clean people and over half of our security deposit was taken for “dirty” showers, cabinets, dishwashers, pretty much everything that was inside the apartment. They took photos of the apartment after we moved out and the “dirty” cabinets in question had legitimately one crumb in the corner. When asked for a refund, the financial rep from the company, Liz, simply laughed at our very reasonable request and offered us 20 bucks. The management seems polite in your brief interactions, but in the ones that count they couldn’t be more rude and pretentious. Don’t walk, run away from this place.
