It's an okay zoo.
Parking was bizarre, including the entrance.
Very expensive admission and parking.
Too many "missing" animals.
Left somewhat disappointed, but we had time and needed something to do.

Just got home from boo at the zoo! Was a very fun family walk and experience! However when me and my family just arrived there, we parked and this man started to yell and swear at my 1 year old nephew and sister while she was buckeling the baby in the stroller. He almost was going to hit us with their car. Because this man was in some sort of “rush” to get parked in a spot. He started calling me and my sister vulgar names I’m a minor and infront of my sisters 1 year old. He wore a bloody werewolf costume to this family event. Very disappointed at the environment already at a FAMILY event?

Wow, what a disappointment. I remember this being a really nice zoo. Clearly, my childhood memories can't be trusted. The aviary reeked. Many of the enclosures were in desperate need of a good cleaning (poo everywhere and the pool containing the seals was covered in algae). Many of the enclosures were far too small for the animals (5 giraffes in a tiny yard with no room to run????). Monkey island only had a handful of monkeys on it. And, many of the concession shops were closed and those that were open were outrageously expensive.

Great zoo to visit. If Uber or Lyft-ing ask to be dropped at pedestrian entrance. Rent a scooter at entrance if needed- Fully accessible facility. Excellent info signage and map. Animals and enclosures are clean and well cared for.
? I was impressed that a few animals were ‘off exhibit’ to give THEM a break- it shows great care is taken of the animal’s needs first! ? Favs: Goat petting corral?Dairy Barn ice cream?, Baby (2!) Giraffes??with a herd. Staff was very helpful and well-informed.

We visited at 1:30 on a Friday and were quite disappointed. We biked there and had complementary tickets. In a nutshell: we barely saw any animals --exhibits were empty and cages were being cleaned (why clean cages while you are still open?) (also many of the animals were being fed in an inaccessible spot while we were there - leading to empty areas), we were going to have a snack and though we saw several places to eat, NOTHING was open except dipndot/cotton candy and the Flamingo Cafe (why are no food spots open while YOU are open), we bought a $5 bottle of water ($5 for a bottle of water?). I guess you have to bring your own picnic lunch and beverage.
I always feel sorry for the animals. This zoo needs a total overhaul, with a new mindset for animals and a new mindset geared towards the customer, etc. etc. I've lived in MKE my whole life and visited the zoo many, many time from childhood on. I worked there for a summer. I felt very sad and let down by the experience today.

We had a great experience. The animals were active and we got a lot of pictures. The staff was very friendly and informative. Masks were required in the buildings but not enforced, there were just a few families that did not wear masks.

Very disappointed with my visit, the price was outragious when most of the stuff wasn't even open and hardly any animals were out. And price for parking was alittle to much for nothing being open. Probably will not go back again. our visit was short because nothing was open....

So much fun! We went as a family (2 boys 10 & 13 also). We all loved it. Note: I did not see any place to get tickets inside and since we were traveling from Chicago, we did buy tickets and parking ($15) in advance. Get there before the 0930 open time, the cars were lined up outside. The indoor exhibits were open - but masks were required inside there and the gift shops. There is a lot of walking. Not sure if you can "rent" a stroller or wheelchair. A lot of areas were accessible outside, but some of the indoor buildings had smaller spaces. Since my kids are older, we were done in 2.5 hours (we did not do any of the ziplining, tram tour or train ride). We did do the Sky Safari, but the notice said they would close it after Labor Day.

Elephants, Hippos, Polar Bears, Giraffes, Gorillas, and so much more - fantastic experience. Tons to do and enjoy - you need more than a few hours. Watch out for the special events - we happened to go on Senior day and it was packed! Their cafe has a good veggie burger too.

Took the kids to the Milwaukee County Zoo prior to their new school year starting. Figured it would be something safe we could all do together as a family outside on a beautiful day. Everything was great... Great weather day, a nice couple hour drive in with traffic, cost was reasonable except for concession items were a bit high, lots of animals exhibits to see, the sea lion show was awesome, the train ride was super cool, the sky chairs were really fun/relaxing, zip lining was thrilling and the rope course got the heart pumping. Plenty to see and do! Great things for any and all ages. The only reason I didn't give this zoo 5 stars was because almost 80% of all concession stands were closed I am assuming due to shortage of workers which is really no fault of their own. I imagine also the reason for a bit higher prices for concession stand items! Not a deal breaker for us at all! Another reason was because certain animal exhibits were completely closed such as our favorite ones the monkeys, apes and gorillas. They also had some extensive construction going on throughout the entire one side of the zoo. Either way we still had a great family day and will always come back to visit. Great place... Large zoo.... Well kept and clean! You can tell the employees take pride in what they do.

In town for a Brewers game. We stop by every few years to check out this zoo. Love how clean it is and that there are so many bathrooms located throughout the property. We love the setting of the canopy of trees over the road/path. Just beautiful. We always love stopping by the barn and watching the 'milking' operation etc.....just a neat place from exotic to 'down home WI' exhibits. Always worth a visit. Great Job for keeping this county zoo 'top notch'
