At any Walgreens you're gonna experience long wait times and I don't want to give them a bad rating because it is not the employees fault. They do their best to attend everyone in line. What they need is more staff. I like coming to this Walgreens. It looks much cleaner than those closer to me. The line for the cashier is way shorter than other ones too. Overall, store looks nice and usually stocked on what I need.

This is my local pharmacy, and every single time I go there, everyone is extremely rude and judgmental. They have attitudes all the time, and the lines are always to the front of the store. Its sad that people can be so inhumane. Every time i need my prescriptions filled i have to deal with ignorance. Today i went to fill my prescriptions and they said oh you will need to wait 2 hours because we’re going on lunch for an hour. Although I understand we all deserve to a lunch but when you have a really sick woman with hives all over her body and need medication as soon as possible, i find it pretty sad. There is no way that i could go sit down to eat a lunch knowing this woman told me she is in dire need of medication before she falls into the ER. The cashier said i dont think we can fill the scripts hold on let me check. I sat there for a half an hour for them to close the gates and not even tell me anything. Just sat there looking dumb. Overall it’s always a horrible experience for me. I would give them 0 stars if i could. Come on people we need to be more kind, you never know what someone is going through.

ALWAYS understaffed in the pharmacy. If you like to wait in line, all the time, everytime, this is the place for you! At least they are consistent...

I've seen more efficient pharmacies. I'd suggest getting prescriptions elsewhere.

They lost track of their flu vaccine inventory last Fall. I had an appointment scheduled but they didn't have any doses.Wasn't too pleased to wait another 24 hours to get antibiotics because their pharmacy prescription system doesn't seem to handle same day scripts efficiently. Good thing it was just antibiotics and I was just fighting an infection that progressed and worsened during that wasted time...

Pharmacies are an important part of my life since I take a ton of medications. I am also very particular and demanding. My pharmacist is more important than my physicians. The docs simply prescribe. The pharmacists must dispense the correct med, in the correct dosage, and most importantly, need to be aware of the manufacturers plus the supply and demand for thousands of medications. It’s a taxing and involved job. Ashley, a seven year veteran of this Walgreens on Howell, is a God send. I moved back to Milwaukee after 12 years away, and my prescriptions needed to be transferred from an independent pharmacy in Seattle, Washington. Ashley took this personally, as the Seattle pharmacy was being West Coast lazy and not answering their phone. She phoned them countless times, finally getting them to answer twice before they would transfer my medications. When I showed up at Ashley’s Walgreens to discuss the dispensing of my meds, she was patient, understanding what I wanted and what was necessary. She explained my responsibility in getting the manufacturers I required, and knew exactly what she must do. Ashley also helped us save money on medications that were not covered by insurance. As I said, she was a God send. Thus, I will ask if Ashley is working before I drive to this Walgreens. When I phone, I will ask for Ashley. She is now my doctor/pharmacist. Having that is priceless when you are older and have health needs.

My former Walgreens store suffered from issues with stocking items and keeping the place free of excessive clutter. Not so with my current shop on South Howell. Shelves are generally stocked, even for sale items. Staff are friendly and helpful. Check out lines are addressed by adding clerks at peak times. The place is clean and has ample parking. Why not 4 or 5 stars? The pharmacy! Waits of 10 minutes or more are not unusual, one can often hear everyone's business, and issues with using the touch pad for check out are nearly constant. Bigger problems, however, have little to do with the local store, but rather with the franchise. They do not seem to be able to adjust schedules to meet their known refill volumes. Their call and text system is seriously deficient (not unusual to get refill reminders that direct one to the wrong store). Correcting the refill issues and insurance problems contributes to long wait times, then some staff seem put out by needing to explain to people who are not feeling well what is going wrong instead of having Walgreens fix their insufficient systems.

Don’t pay online. They say it is for your convenience, but, the pharmacy does not recognize online payments. I DID NOT receive a bar code and had to pay again for my prescription. I have now been billed twice.

I scheduled an appt for 10am for a shingles vaccine. I received the confirmation email, did the pre-registration online and was asked (by their site) to arrive 10 min. early. I arrived 12 min early, waited in line for 10 min only to be told there was a 45 min wait for my 10am appt. I reminded them "but I have an appt for 10am". They told me there were 3-4 people in front of me and they all have appts. and "I'm only one person." I'm not faulting the staff; but if you're only one person, maybe space the appts out so that people aren't waiting 45 min. It sounds like they are at the mercy of the online system which only allows 10 min between appts. 10 min for pre-registered patients sounds reasonable to me. I'm not sure what the staff is doing that makes it take more than 10 min. I used to get my prescription filled at this specific Walgreens years ago, but the frustration of there ALWAYS being a line with 4-5 ppl in front of me no matter what time of day I went made me quickly switch to mail order. I did not wait the 45 min for my vaccine. I left. They suggested coming in the evening around 7 or 8pm but also noted they can't guarantee there won't be a line at that time either. I may try my luck at a competitor.

Only commenting on passport services. Another location took an unusable photo so was in for a replacement. After 4 photos & 15 minutes of 4 staff members back and forth, i left empty handed. The issue centered around the staff not clearly understanding what is and is not acceptable in a photo. As they debated back and forth, I had the Google machine up answering every single question. I had to leave due to time constraints and a serious lack of confidence in their skills. They get 2 stars because I know they were trying to do the right thing.
