My cousin and I stopped here while on a road trip through Wisconsin and it was a wonderful experience! The waitress (Miranda) was so wonderful, helping us through any of our menu inquiries, and all of the food was delicious! Sometimes stopping at a small town cafe can feel risky, but this one is 100% worth the risk! We loved it!Food: 5/5

Great place. Small town feels. Home cooked food. Eggs and corned beef hash was excellent. Let me hang out for a while and enjoy my morning there. Good food and great prices.

Stopped here for lunch. Had to try the pasty but for those familiar with authentic pasty, this would be one to pass. It was pre-made and microwaved. But the the “wilted salad” (spring greens with hot bacon dressing) was delicious!

I ordered pasty to go with mixed vegetables as a side. Living in SW WI means that I've had a lot of opportunities to eat pasty. This was legitimately the BEST pasty I have ever tasted. EVER.Food: 5/5

If I had to have a last meal it would be here. Pasty, saffron bread, bread pudding and Figgy Hobbin. Okay I'm a Sconnie but this place is heaven on earth. Tammi is the best !Kid-friendliness: Absolutely kid friendly.

In Mineral Point, you have to try a pasty. This has been served here for 50 years.

This place is the "real diner deal". Figgy Hobbin is otherworldly yummy with really whipped topping.I am now a convert to bisquits and gravy. A+.Can't say enough nice things about the friendly owner and staff. Lead cook has been there for as long as I've been breathing.

I got some potato soup to go: sooo good. Amazing mouthfeel (not something I'm used to thinking about when I have potato soup) and great flavor, with big chunks of tender ham.

We always like to try something new. The pasties were good but I think they are always dry - nothing a little gravy couldn't fix. The figgyhobbin was very good and worth trying. The staff is not especially friendly....,maybe they see too many tourists.

Great little diner. We had to climb the hill for breakfast but it was worth it.

Whilst in Mineral Point I learned that there's a strong affiliation with Cornwall and many of the residents have Cornish ancestors. They're even twinned with a town in Cornwall. I didn't have plans to get anything to eat here, but walking around I saw that the Red Rooster Cafe has a pasty of the day. I'm not sure if it's different or the same each day, but I decided to give it a try. They'll heat them up. The server offered me that option, and I would have taken for granted that it would be heated so I'm glad she did! I didn't have a place to heat it up since I was staying in a hotel. But it makes sense that they offer them with re-heating instructions as well. This pasty was HUGE; it could easily be split by a couple people or used for a couple meals. It was okay. I wouldn't have minded if it had some spices added--even just salt and pepper. But it was well cooked, and the vegetables were perfect--potato and maybe squash or sweet potato, I'm not sure. Perfectly tender and a nice complement to the huge amount of meat in the pasty. It's a good value item. I am curious what their other pasties of the day are! This place very much has an old-school diner vibe, and they have the huge counter to prove it. There's outdoor seating as well. The woman who helped me with my order was friendly and efficient, so I was in and out within 10 minutes.

Nice restaurant/cafe with good English/Scottish dishes in addition to regular food.
