Do not apply for a membership.I registered for morning classes five (5) times and the instructors were no where to be seen. I registered for two appointments with Angela because she was a no show at the first one and repeated the same thing the second time. The staff is unreliable, unknowledgeable, and invisible. Every gym is different and I wanted to be shown how this one operated but it's impossible if there is no one to assist you. I would rather run outside during the winter (in Wisconsin, no less) than to be treated like I am unimportant like I was here. I canceled my membership immediately and refuse to go back. The only plus side to the entire ordeal was the lady at reception who was extremely sweet and kind to me, who had been there when I was stood up twice. She felt like the bartender at a blind date.

We had a really great day here with little kids. The family pass was a very affordable way to spend the day for a group of 6 people. We only utilized the pool, but the kids had a great time. The lady at the front desk was very welcoming and answered any questions we had.The only thing I would suggest is that the temperature in the changing rooms increases by like 10-15 degrees. The locker rooms were freezing and felt like only 50 degrees. For wet kids that is just too cold.We will definitely be back and can't wait to partake in the family swim movies.

I am a former member of this facility but I recently went there on a day pass with a friend to work out. The equipment in the gym is dirty, worn and poorly maintained. There’s areas where the rubber mat flooring is worn and damaged. Padding on a majority of the equipment is extremely worn out. The cables on some machines are cracked with the inner steel cable exposed. Not to mention the cables are stretched and not tightened or adjusted like they’re supposed to be. It’s pretty sad to see how the gym has declined in the last 3 or so years. You’d think that a gym that charges their members $60+ a month and also gets numerous donations from large corporations every year could atleast afford to properly maintain their equipment. If a new gym were to open up in Racine besides Planet and Razor, I’m confident this facility would lose a lot of their memebrship.

This place has to have one of the most absurd policies of having to have a proof of address for your children. Seems like they want to make it as difficult as possible to be a member.

Anna is a terrible life guard. She last and just stands in one spot. Cause she doesn't wanna do her job. Ridiculous we are paying all this money and half the time the pool is closed or the basketball court is always bring used for everything else except basketball. Why not schedule more activities during the day. To occupied the gym

Love swimming here but the water could be a little warmer and the locker rooms could be a little cleaner!

Great clean facility and locker rooms. Love this Y! I've traveled a bunch and been to several and this is definitely in my top 3 across the nation. They have everything you need and almost everything you would want for a fitness center and lifestyle. From a big aquatics center (including a water slide, hot tub and steam room) to an awesome cardio theater/indoor track with great machines and free weight options. They have a large gym and several classrooms for group classes including yoga, spin, HIIT and aerobics. The group classes are excellent and have a ton of participation.I have had the opportunity to use this Y regularly for the last 5 months and have never been disappointed. Met some really great people along the way that will be friends for life.Shout out to Blanca at the member desk who is amazing and always so helpful. AND Chloe' W who is a talented amazzzing yoga teacher and even better person. Challenging yet accessible classes for everyone. Her yoga classes...are the best 60 minutes you’ll ever spend in Racine and she deserves a raise?!

The summer day camp is an extremely poorly run program. I have asked for communication about scheduling on two separate occasions and haven't heard a response from either request. In fact, the only communication I was able to get from them was the day AFTER they ran my first payment, they called to let me know our desired location was canceled due to low enrollment. We went to an "orientation" the week before, where I had to fill out paperwork for a second time because they lost the first copy. That would have been an opportune time to give parents a heads up that their commute was about to double, at least, to get care for their children. No one mentioned, either, that weekly swimming was included in the (same) cost as the outdoor park program, if you chose the correct location.

Staff is and has always been very friendly. They are loyal to the organization as I’ve been a member in the past and still recognize a lot of faces. Management should meet with front desk employees regularly to get their feedback on where improvements can be made. Front desk not only is the concierge for the Y but they also deal with all the complaints but sadly can’t take actionable steps to correct problems.Cleanliness of the facility should be of main concern. Please walk and look at the men’s showers, they have had severe mold for over a year. OSHA should be contacted as exposure to mold can cause a variety of health effects and symptoms, including allergic reactions.Steam room is only open a couple weeks a year , and closures during winter for an inch of snow shouldn’t be acceptable. Prices have increased and discounts have been discounted with less amenities. From a business perspective if it wasn’t for Silver Sneaker members it is hard to imagine this is a profitable business location considering the turnover.

This gym is design for older folk. Basketball courts are made for large work out classes instead for the youth. I traveled and move a lot of places.......this is a YMCA catered to the older crowd I'm talking 40 and up. The gym is held hostage and doesn't have kids in mind. I remember playing at the YMCA for like 2 ,3 hours when I was younger. Now you have 30 min with 30 people on 2 10 ft goals and 1 6ft goal.

I come to the Y because I get a discount through my work and it’s not usually that busy, so I can easily use the equipment. Apart from that, I feel like it is not managed very well. The front desk people are not helpful and are often slightly rude and standoffish. My friend and I have both complained countless times about the creepy old men who stare at us while we workout. It’s a daily occurrence and they stare for the entire time and move to be near us. We have given them their names, but they refuse to do anything about it. The staff clearly don’t care about their members and their safety. So, we have had to talk to the many creepy men on our own. The equipment is often broken. The pads that you can use for the smith machine are awful, so my friend and I have to bring our own. The place is also messy at time with stuff all over the place. They don’t provide wipes, so it seems people don’t really clean the equipment off as often as they did when these were provided. Also, the hot tub was drained for a long time and it seemed there was little urgency to get it fixed. I was also disappointed at the fact that they were closed for a whole weekend due to less than an inch of snow. Overall a fine gym if you’re okay with creepy men staring at you and a mediocre environment. I’m wondering if the prices went up to “match competitive wages” for the workers to do nothing but sit on their phones all day.

I have run into many problems over the time that I have been coming to this gym. Firstly, much of the equipment is in poor condition, but never gets fixed or replaced. I have also filed numerous complaints about creepy men in the gym, and the staff has failed to do anything. They left it to me to tell the men off myself, despite the number of times I asked for something to be done. Now I have run into yet another example of bad customer service. I left my water bottle upstairs in the gym, and called immediately after leaving to request that they set it aside for me and I would come pick it up. When I came to retrieve it, they informed me that they throw their lost and found items away after two weeks, so they had just gotten rid of it. It hadn’t been near two weeks since I left it there. Although I do enjoy how empty this gym usually is, I’m starting to think it may be empty for a reason.

Work until 11am. Lately the pool has been closed from 12 til 4. Liked to come after work. I need the exercise and for me the water is the best way to get it.
