As soon as you walk in the door, you are bombarded by cases of alcohol. You can't see the clerk as soon as you get in the door, and she can't see you either. Being new in the area, the cashier that was working when we went in wasn't very friendly, she was evidently afraid if she would have smiled, her face would crack.
