Don't go here if you have kids that are anything more than a statue. Our kids, 4 years old, noticed the pig towards the back right away and immediately were touching it. The man working asked to not let them mess with it (completely understandable and justified) so I moved them away to the toy/candy quarter machine by the front door to keep them occupied while my husband was getting all the items we wanted. The kids were putting quarters in the machine, one walked behind it and his coat caught the light switch and made the lights flicker. The person working, whom I was told was the owner, scolded my husband that we better get the kids under control. I could completely understand if they were running around not being supervised and allowed to do whatever they wanted but that wasn't the case at all. You may want to consider moving the kids' quarter machine to an area that won't risk an accidental light flicker. Their products are amazing - just don't take your kids in with you. It's unfortunate that the poor customer service experience out weighed the great quality products, forcing us to take our money to feed 10 people elsewhere.

Wow! No ? it's actually the 5th in w ei2EDIT ?2-20-24: Still love the products but I'm too frustrated not to say something about them closing early all the time. No joke the last FOUR times I've come here it's been CLOSED!! As early as 7:30 and as late as 7:50. Might as well change the hours to 7 or 7:30. My schedule only allows for me to get there between 730 and 8 which SHOULDN'T be an issue, RIGHT? URGH sooo ANNOYED.NO CHICKEN, No Salmon, No Cheese Curds for me **AGAIN**!

I have health issues with food allergies. Rich understood, went the extra mile giving me especially cut pork, and making it into ground pork, so that I can eat it. Super delicious!!! He is a blessing!!

The staff here is great, it’s so nice to have a traditional butcher counter so close. We’ve hired and been to several events they have catered and it’s also been great!

Been getting lunches here for a few years. Great food and staff. Used the catering about 5 years ago. What a way to go for a large group of people. They plan it all and give you all the best options for choice of meats, all their sides are great. Comfort food at its finest.

A top notch local meat market. We have used them for catering and shop here regularly. Excellent hot lunch and dinner options that are affordable! Great prices, variety and service. So glad we have them in the Village.

Would give 2.5 stars for catering. We used JL Richards for our wedding. The food was great and the price was good. We recieved a lot of compliments on the food and they were able to meet the needs of both vegetarian and vegan guests. However, the communication with JL Richards was atrocious. We initially sent an email to do a tasting and someone replied quickly and gave us a call to set something up. We paid our deposit shortly after the tasting and did other wedding things. A few months later I had a few questions about adding on appetizers, which I sent by email. I sent a reminder email to that one, another reminder email a week or two later, and a fourth reminder email. I also tried submitting on their form on their website and sending from an alternate email address in case my email address was getting flagged or something. I also tried sending a Facebook message. Nothing. Finally, after weeks of not hearing from them, I called. I talked with Ashley who said they were having trouble with their email. I asked if they had another email address so that I could correspond with them and she said no, the was the only one. When I asked her how I was supposed to communicate with them when they apparently weren't getting my emails, she didn't have a response. When I asked Ashley about the appetizers she provided a response but then also could not locate my reservation sheet and had me text it to her (a little concerning). She then said that since I had her phone number, I could use that to correspond.Another few months later I had another question and I texted Ashley. No response. I emailed them again. No response. I sent SEVERAL reminders emails, from multiple emails addresses, and even added on read receipts. They were reading my emails - but not responding. It was a month before the wedding and I wanted to confirm details. I called them again and talked to Kim and she confirmed and said she'd send the final bill and to look it over and call with any questions. I reviewed it and it was missing the appetizers so I called and she said she'd add it on and re-send. She did. A day later we then had 2 people who couldn't come to the wedding (this was still a week before) and asked if we could change numbers. She replied at night and said yes, no problem at all, that she would send the updated bill when she got to work the next day. At this point I was thinking "well, maybe they start giving you more attention as the date gets closer?" because she had responded to a few of my emails. But I was wrong. Because I sent Kim THREE emails to remind her to update the bill and send it to me before we came in to pay our final bill and she never did. We had to go in to pay and tell them that the bill needed to be updated before we paid and they did that no problem.Overall, the people that work at JL are nice, the wait staff at the venue was good, and the food and prices were good - but the extremely poor communication caused a lot of extra stress in an already very stressful time.
