This veterinary clinic has lost something in the last few years. Think they have gotten to big.

Oregon vet is THE best. I have nothing but the best to say about them. They are always careful, respectful, and know what they are doing. Unlike other vets, they always take the time to explain all the options available. When Stoughton gave up, and UW said my cat may have a year at a cost of $2500. Oregon vet (Dr Stevens) gave me 5 additional years at a cost of $700. They gave me options other places did not.

Oregon Vet Clinic used to be the best vet, but their caring and support has declined significantly over the last year. We called them several times over the last month for a failing and elderly pup that we’ve had for 15 years (and under their care for nearly 7), each time them reporting they had no availability and that we would have to seek emergency care. Most recently, we anticipated we would need to be saying goodbye sooner than later and were looking for support, again, we were told we needed to pursue emergency vet services. Our loyal companion of 15 years needed to be euthanized at an emergency vet on a Monday afternoon because our local and previously trusted provider wasn’t available. They failed our pup and us at his most vulnerable hour which is inexcusable.

They would not let me speak to my vet re: end of life because said pet was overdue for vaccinations because they did not have availability because we are in a pandemic. They did not care about me or my pet and made me feel like I was trying to steal services. I have only ever taken my pets to their clinic. Now I will never return.

It has taken me a very long time to even post about the experience that I had at Oregon pet service. I had one dog they saved that had An infection in her uterus and they let us make a payment plan for her emergency surgery which I paid off early. I also had one dog that was laid to rest there and I was so grateful for the experience I had I brought the staff healthy snacks and gave them a thank you letter. However I had a sweet girl name Ginger I took her in twice in one week and told them something was wrong with her she either had an infection in her uterus or a bowel obstruction I was charged about $1200 which they told me if I didn’t pay at the time that I couldn’t leave. I told them that I had made a payment arrangement previously and I would do so again however i was informed that this was not an option .. So as them being experts I took their advice that nothing was wrong with her, later that night my husband came home from work and asked me what was wrong with Ginger as she was laying at the end of the bed and I thought he was messing with me because that’s what he does. However she was almost unresponsive at this point and burning up with a fever of 107.4. We ended up taking her to the Monona emergency vet where she had to be put down. When I took her to the Oregon but twice within one week and they told me nothing was wrong with her,I was really happy because I thought that was the truth however I did not listen to my gut. Which is why I brought her in twice just to make sure she was OK and the second time I brought her in I talked to the receptionist and I said they gave me a really hard time about having to pay the bill right then after the 1st visit. We had just bought a house and put all our money into our down payment. She assured me that we could make a payment plan and that the Oregon vet clinic was very caring and would make arrangements. This did not happen. The office manager was completely horrible and stated I needed to pay the whole thing for the 2nd visit right then and there. After she had to be put down at the Monona emergency vet (who were awesome like so awesome I can’t even describe it) they contacted the office who stated they had nothing to say but never even made a phone call or apologized or anything. However Monona vet took a print of Ginger’s paw and sent it to me along with a condolence card. If you love your animals listen to your gut and never ever trust someone who doesn’t have your animals best interest in mind. I hope they’re happy with the money that they gained but I wouldn’t take any animal there. If you are truly wanting the best for your animal I would suggest finding another clinic who actually listens and it’s not in it for the money. To say that I am disappointed would be an understatement. The fact that my dog had to suffer breaks my heart every day. Unless you’re an animal lover you’ll probably not get this however I would’ve paid anything to save her. If you love your animals do not take them there. Ginger never got to see the huge backyard of the house I bought for her to play in. OK so I work in the medical field and there are errors that happen however people need to be responsible for them and this was not their concern, there were worried about the $. I cannot describe the heartbreak that I have experienced since this incident. It has taken me almost 2 years to process, I trusted them and it makes me sick

The Oregon Vet got my 1 year old cat in right away when I called in the morning. He had stepped or got caught in something outside and lost a nail on one paw and cut open the other. They took such good care of him within 30 minutes. Our three little children were so relieved to have him home right away. Overall a very positive experience.

Dr Ovick is a great doctor and great person, the front office on the other hand sucks, my staffordshire bull terrier had a scheduled c section but they never offered any test to get the date correct instead you have to guess by breeding date, they refused me to take her in 1 day after scheduled made up excuses, so long story short 2 dead puppies later I took her to sondel vet CV clinic where they offer pedesterone testing FIRSt before going further to get exact date but she was already in labor.

Dr. Jim is the best. He takes his time to answer any questions and is very thorough. I’ve been taking all of my dogs to the clinic for over 17 years. I wouldn’t take them anywhere else. I’m also confident in the other vets when Dr. Jim isn’t available.
