Is just isn’t what it used to be! I frequented the pleasant prairie one and the Vernon hills store and the pleasant prairie one looks so dishelved and such a mess!

If you live more than 5 miles away from this location, don't even think about selling here. Not long ago,I went to this place to thrift, and I got to know they also buy used cloths. I went to this place twice recently, and both times I was very disappointed.I only brought four things with me on my first visit last Thursday: two pairs of pumps from H&M and Zara and a pair of slim-fit pants from Hollister. I asked them why they weren't interested in buying my clothes while they were going through them. I could understand why they said that slim fits weren't in style at the moment. They did say, though, that they liked wide-leg jeans and pants better. I thought that was fine.I came back today (Monday) with about 48 pieces carefully sorted by brand. They had wide-leg pants with a high waist from Zara, H&M, and Aeropostale, as well as three dresses that looked very "Spring" and many other spring-themed items.I was surprised by how uninterested and careless the girl who was going through the bag seemed. She didn't even bother to look through the contents carefully; everything was still packed up the way I had. Even though I tried hard, they only chose three items—a wool skirt and two tank tops—and offered me $4 for those products. To be honest, after driving for over 35 minutes each way, I'm not sure why I even bothered. Wouldn't it have been smarter to just give my things to Goodwill? it's important to note that when people sell products to a thrift store, they're typically used to some degree. Returning everything due to minor wear and tear seems unreasonable. If sorting through a large number of clothes at once is too burdensome, you should establish clear limits so that customers aren't misled into wasting their time and energy. The main problem wasn't the quality of the items I brought in or their decision of taking it but rather the fact that they didn't even bother to examine all of them. Despite the effort I put into sorting and presenting my pieces, they showed a lack of care and attention.Never doing business with them again!

Easy place to take your clothes for resale.

They definitely do not pay 30 percent to 40 anymore. Good place to find things for a deal on sale but wouldn't recommend selling to them, unless you where going to just donate clothing then you can make something.

I went here attempting to sell a few dresses and a couple pairs of jeans. They told me it would take at least 2 hours to decide what my stuff was worth to them. When i told them that i cant wait for 2 hours and if i had known it would take that long i wouldn't have even come. When i called them a couple days later to see how much my things were worth, first she said she couldnt tell me over the phone and id have to come back to the actual store for her to tell me, and then i told her that its a 40 minute drive for me and i didnt wanna drive all the way there for nothing. Then she got back on the phone after putting me on hold for almost 10 minutes to tell me my stuff is worth 15 whole dollars. Thats awful. They ended up keeping my clothes. And the clothes they had in there didnt look that great either.

If I could give 0 stars I would.. I've moved and lived ALL over the country, mainly WI, and have been to MANY different Platos.. never have I been so disappointed in my favorite store to shop at. They don't buy mice clothes from people, so I can't find nice clothes that I actually like.. Its like shopping on Marketplace! Disgusting. I've LOVED every other one I've shopped at, but the CHILDREN who "run" the store (more like run it into the ground) have NO clue what A good quality fabric/piece of clothing looks like. They don't know brands. Im someone who doesn't care much about what brand people, or I, wear, but i definitely know more than these kids who get paid to do their job but don't actually do their job...If that's what they're ASKED to do for their position, then the owner of this store should reconsider owning a higher end, resale shop. Your people don't know what the Buckle brand is... and we are in more of a "country" area of the state than a lot of the other locations I've shopped at. I used to spend $500/$600 in one trip.. but this location? I would cry if I had to spend that much cuz the clothes aren't worth it. The only downside with Plato's closets are that they are subjective when "buying" peoples used clothes. And I use quotes because they give you a few quarters for a $250 pair of jeans from Bucklewith the tag still on. The girl refused to buy jeans that had any gems or jewels on them for show and said that "people don't like the gems"... I'm sorry, WHAT!? This Plato's closet is the WORST Plato's I've ever been to in my life. And I was a shopping fanatic years ago, I still have closets full of clothes with tags on them. I'm broke and could use the money as I'm a full-time college student, but I think I'd be better off just donating them so people who aren't as fortunate can have a chance to get nice clothing. It's just too bad. But the owner of this particular Plato's needs to put a basic "buying chart" together for its employees because the employees dont like anyone else's clothes, but it's funny they judge that because they are wearing Walmart clothes themselves. Nothing wrong with that, Walmart clothes are better than what this store Carries anyways..But I think there needs to be basic training and rules (not just a piece of paper saying what they buy) for their employees,Or they WILL go out of business. I have nicer clothes sitting in my upstairs room wasting space than what this location Carries. DEFINITELY worth the drive to ANY other location tho, I love this chain, but this store in particular needs some help, and they need to hire mature girls, not little girls who think they can talk to their customers, or just OTHER HUMAN BEINGS in general, in such a disrespectful, nasty way. I hope they fix it, and FAST. I'd say fire toyr whole staff, increase wages by a little bit, give them basic training on what a nice piece of clothing is, and I think the store can take off and people can make money on their old clothes and YOU (owner of this location) can make bank.. but instead you Wanna pay minimum wage to high schoolers (who act like middleSchoolers) and hope to your god that you can make a profit. It's not gonna happen. Please do better. Please hire better people. And get rid of the ones you've hired currently They are rude, snobby, and make customers incredibly uncomfortable!

I just shopped there and spent a decent amount of time browsing and looking through the store. I feel like this store has a lot of potential to be great. There were just a few things that were super inconvenient. The sizing has to be consistent throughout the store. There was countless times I would shop in a particular sized section, only to see smalls in the larges and vice versa. Another thing is the upkeep of the store. Clothes seem to be just about everywhere on the floor and a lot of the inventory is half hanging off hangers. This could seriously be a slipping hazard for customers. I totally get that everywhere is having short staffing issues, but this just cannot be standard. Lastly, damaged clothing. There were a few great things that I found only for them to have obvious damage to them, not normal wear and tear! Super disappointing because I would've loved to purchase something today, but felt like lack of attention to detail was too great.

Twice now, a store in Illinois and Wisconsin hasn't taken a single piece of my clothes. A guy leaving got $66. If you have tasteful clothing don't bother trying to have them buy but all the junk they sell gets bought?! Selection is for teens. Lame "outdated" policy, when every trend makes it's way back.
