what. a. gem. This cafe was especially busy today with the holidays and this group of three badass ladies made it look easy while preparing delicious breakfasts with no mistakes. Would visit again and again if I lived closer.

A great little cafe located in Downtown Portage. Fantastic meal at a very affordable price. Try the hashbrownsParking: There was plenty of street parking available.

Old school diner for sure. Love it! Walking back in time. The food here is good. I was pleasantly surprised.

Phenomenal little place! We randomly stopped in while traveling back up North and had breakfast and it was the best breakfast I've ever had. Great atmosphere and staff, would go back if we drift through the area again.

Twenty-five years ago this place was owned by a man named Dennis. He ran a tight ship, and did most of the cooking himself. The place was always packed with local business owners and others who would shoot the breeze over breakfast or lunch. The food and service were top notch. Today I ate here, and was quite disappointed. It took about 12 minutes to get my eggs and hashbrowns, even though there were only three customers. The eggs and potatoes were barely hot, though cooked correctly. Did they serve them on a frozen plate, or did the cook let them sit around before sending them out? The coffee is terrible. In this age of awesome coffees, you'd think they could step up. They refill their ketchup and mustard bottles, attested to by the dirty, greasy labels. The ketchup bottle was filthy, with dried ketchup here and there. It had no expiration date, but the date on the mustard was 10 months ago. The plastic placemat had streaks of food on it. The men's room had no coat hook. The booths are a bit tight. The benches are maybe 1.5" too close to the tables. They play music from the 1950's exclusively. All in all it was a dismal experience.

Cute little diner atmosphere. Had eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, and toast. It hit the spot. Friendly service.

So we usually Love this breakfast place! The past 3 times have been under whelping! They ran out of country fried steak x2 (my husband's favorite), portions of corned beef hash and Hashbrowns were smaller. Cheese on Hashbrowns were not melted, waitress had to take them off our plate and reheat in microwave which made them less crispy! We were patient both times but the last time of "the truck didn't come so no country fried steak and only one more order of Hashbrowns. " we left and went elsewhere. We bithsaud "It seems like they are going out of business!" Very disappointed!

I had the Biscuits and sausage gravy. Wife had ham, egg and potatoes. Everything was very good. The decor is an old time bar with stools. It is located on the main street though town.
