Customer service at this location is horrible! No one cares, no knowledge on anything including location of items. Selection is okay I won't be back at. Home Depot any time soon. Way too many options out there.

totally 'gangsta'!!! if you're not covered from head to toe with ridiculous, looking tats and 'packing'.... you won't fit in! When we moved here a dozen years ago, this place was totally different... Too bad it's the way most of Racine has gone.... There are still a couple associates left who will bother to help you the rest. Just want to be riding around on forklifts so that they can do all they can to avoid any real physical labor.

Went in to buy a new lawnmower. All associates that I came in contact with were helpful and knowledgeable. They explained what models they had, and wanted to know what I was looking for. All in all, I was very satisfied with the end product. Very well organized store, and cleanliness was par. I even got a 10% military discount on my purchase.

Ordered a new Christmas Tree through the Home Depot APP with delivery to the Racine Home Depot store. It was a pretty disappointing experience. Shipping was free if it was shipped to the store which is what I did. Because time was of the essence; I was anxious to get the tree home and UP and DECORATED before Christmas I had been tracking the shipment. I saw through the APP that my tree had been delivered to the store on Monday 12/6/2021 @ 12:25 pm. When I called on Tuesday to check on the status of the order, the store assured me they had NOT received. Perhaps tomorrow. When I called on Wednesday they again assured me they didn't have it, but at least I got someone to start search for it. In frustration I went IN to the store on Wednesday and asked for the store manager. She started down the same "we don't have it; you'll need to reorder it" path. The manager could tell I was getting angry. To appease me the store manager agreed to call HomeDepot.com to check the status. She was surprised to hear from HomeDepot.com that it had truly been delivered to the store and they were given the name of the employee who had signed for the delivery. NOW I had the store's attention. I was hearing all sorts of excuses. I accused the store of putting our pre-paid merchandise out on the floor to sell in store. Oh HOW the manager and staff denied that was possible. They would NEVER do that. Low and behold they magically produce our tree and written on the box is STORE STOCK that has been scratched out. No, they wouldn't sell our pre-paid seasonal high demand tree on the floor; MY FOOT!!! Beware of ordering from the Home Depot App with shipment to the store. Wish I could have used zero stars. Needed to give them 1 star to have the privilege of sharing my experience. I've included some pictures to confirm the details of my purchase.

I ordered carpeting eligible for 5 day install (I paid more than I wanted just to ensure I could get a 5 day install since they only offered 5 day install on select carpeting), my initial quote included the $149 for 5 day install and I told the person that did the measurements I wanted a 5 day install. I took vacation time to be available for the install. I could not see the details of the final invoice because they sent it via text message instead of email, so it was too small to read and after I paid, the link would not allow my to pull it back up so that I could try to read or print it, but since it was more than $200 over my initial quote, I had no reason to think they didn't include the 5 day install since the initial quote had included it. I did not receive a receipt, order number or any communication regarding the install after I paid. I called customer service 2 days later since I was concerned I hadn't heard anything and discovered, after much run around by customer service, that they did not include the 5 day install and could not tell me when they would get around to it. The Home Depot representative at the Racine Home Depot flooring department was very rude when I called and REFUSED to honor the 5 day install. They also did not refund the entire amount that I paid after I cancelled my order. I will not go back to Home Depot again.

The Home Depot online reservations and reservation system for tools is horrible. First, the online sight did not let me pick the store I wanted in Racine, WI. The site kept bouncing to another store in Chicago's loop. I was finally able to reserve a wood splitter and left a $150 dollar deposit. The night before I need the wood splitter, I received a text message informing me that my reservation was canceled and deposit returned. Apparently, when you rent equipment from Home Depot the renter can keep the equipment for as long as they like regardless of the reservations placed on the item. I had my whole crew ready to go and now have to cancel my project. Why would Home Depot ask for reservations and deposit if they are not sure the item will be available. First come first serve system would seem to work better in not wasting peoples time and money. STAY AWAY FROM HOME DEPOT. Totally stupid system that can cost you hundreds of dollars. I will not be returning to buy anything from The Home incompetent Depot.

Employees are not the smartest and not train at all. I send couple people for wood size 1 5/8 x 1/5/8 x 4 or bigger so I can cut wood for this dimension they told them that they don't have it then second time they sold other guy 2x4 and told him to cut it from this. So Employees doesn't know that the 2 x 4 size is 1..5 by 3.5 inch. They have to learn how to use tape measure. Always hard to find anything. To management: reorder products when you low on it not when you out of it... how hard is that ??

I needed some 3-1/2 wide dog-eared fence wood. I checked the Home Depot App where it said to contact the store to check availability. Because of Covid-19, I didn't want to make the trip to the store unless they had what I needed, so I called the store. I was bounced between the lumber dept. and customer service 7 times, then got hung up on. To their credit, the guy from lumber called me back so I described what I was looking for . . . 3-1/2" wide x 6' pickets. The guy said, of sure, we've got tons of those. I said, "you're sure, because I don't want to make the trip for nothing. The Lumber Associate replied, "oh, we always have lots of those on hand." So, I made the trip. Well, they did not have any. When I told the "kid" who worked in the lumber department what happened, he just shrugged his shoulders and walked away. I will only return to this Home Depot as a last resort in the future.

Writing this during the pandemic -- I specifically came here to get all my garden flowers, mulch, shrubs, etc., because it is all outdoors so I could avoid going into the store. However, they are now requiring you to enter the store ONLY from the very farthest entrance away from the garden area, and you have to walk through the entire store to get there! I turned around and I'm going elsewhere. Stupid, stupid rule, Home Depot! Whose brilliant idea was this?!

There's this and there's Menard's. Lowe's if you want to drive, Harbor Freight if you want to try a new tool without investing much. That said, I turned around and walked out of the store today before ever grabbing my items. Why? They only had self-checkout open. I'm not working retail for free. Discount me the cost of the product that is supposed to pay for that staff, and maybe I'll consider it, but not as is. CEOs everywhere must be giggling over self-checkout. It's annoying, it's cumbersome, it's not user friendly, there's no space to work, and I start to feel small death inside as I scan things. There should be pay for this type of work. In fact, it's a time honored tradition. Yeah, some like working retail for free and don't find it inconvenient and to each his own, but make it OPTIONAL.

I am posting this because I have been here before and received poor treatment from the manager due to my veterans status. when I when back to the office and shared my experience, other veterans said that the same thing happened to them. Every other home depot ( and lowes ) offers a military/ veterans discount. The home depot in Racine has a manager that has proven to be anti military. In the past he has refused to give the military discount and had a angry look on his face when he did it and his words and body language were aggressive and rude. On veterans day weekend I went in because my office is walking distance from this store. The cashier ( very nice and helpful ) informed me that they get in trouble if they give out the military discount. I asked why and she went in to detail about the manager and how he writes them up or gets them in trouble for giving it out to often. She asked me to write a review on the survey and on the site to help change this. I wrote a review with a one star rating that was accurate, polite and professional. I later got an email stating that it was rejected. I just want to make everybody and all my veteran/ active duty brothers and sisters aware of this store. Please don't shop here. Lowes is down the street and never have they questioned the use of this discount. They even apply it to online shopping. Happy veterans day.

Don't ever buy an appliance, especially Samsung from any Home Depot. We bought a refrigerator with a Home Depot extended warranty and have been without a refrigerator for 11 days, living out of ice chests. They have no service centers in the Racine area and the one they hired in Kenosha doesn't carry the needed parts. They lied to us about overnighting the parts last week to the repair company they contacted and said today they don't overnight parts on Friday. I have had to throw away over $500 in food that included meat for a reunion on July 4th. I collected money to pay for the meat and now have to replace it out of my own pocket. (Live on Social Security) They sent me a form to be reimbursed for the loss but it says there is a limit on what you can claim. I will never again look at appliances at Home Depot no matter how reasonable the price. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!
