My visits to this quarry this summer on nice and hot days with my girlfriend made this summer amazing. I think about this place quite a bit. Disappointing there probably won't be any REAL hot days left this summer.
Thanks to the townfolk who let us use this quarry. It really is a one of a kind place, and these types of little spots are normally kept private for local residents.
Thanks to the officers who patrol and keep it safe and riff-Raff (for the most part) free. Hope I can come back next summer.

The waters is so clear. It is beautiful. The rocks are slippery. Be careful. But fun was had by all. It is a hidden gem. Cops round routinely, NO ALCOHOL. They will search bags and fine individuals. No riff raff, just fun in the water and sun.

Back before c1935 my great grandfather (as well as other family) worked quarrying stone here.
I came to visit in 2016 and 2019. In 2016 my kids swam. It is a beautiful area but I hope that current visitors remember the sweat and sacrifice that made this place.
Obviously fools have died swimming while drunk or stoned. And clearly many don't respect natural areas as now it is full of graffiti and often closed off. Honor history and nature: we'll all be better off.

Great place to stop and hang out. My wife and I brought a small picnic here with our dog. Lots of different areas to claim your own spot for the day and take a dip or just hang out. If you're in the mood for a short hike, you can make it around the whole quarry. We even had a cop visit as we were eating lunch, which I hear is not umcommon.

I have some mixed emotions about this place.
I grew up in Red granite and over the years . obviously you're gonna hear some horror stories. But, this place gives me the creeps! Haunted for sure! But it has a beautiful view. Always looks so refreshing in the summer.
I personally have not had any bad experiences here but a few of my friends have.
One of my childhood friends said she felt that someone was grabbing her leg while she was under water, after she jumped off the dock. She said she never swam there again!
For a while there, there was teenagers and young adults who use to misuse the quarry and drink and dive. Lots of people have died doing this because they underestimate the depths of the quarry.
The quarry is 163 feet deep and has icy water, submerged rocks, and depths that are unusual for Wisconsin swimming holes. The quarry's deep water and cliffs can make it difficult to get out of some areas, and the cold water can shock swimmers. The quarry also doesn't have lifeguards, and swimming is at your own risk.
They're now adding cameras to the place which I think is good for everyone's sake!
Since 1973, there have been 19 deaths. BE SAFE!!!!!
But I swear this place is bad voodoo!
#RIP
