My father used to call golf “pasture pool.” That is an accurate description of this facility. You are nearly playing in a pasture on a few holes. Greens are shaped like upside down bathtubs and play as if they are. The beers on the course, when there IS cart service are more expensive than Troy Burne. There is zero attempt to control speed of play (you WILL wait on most holes) so settle in. They also make no attempt to control etiquette or attire. If you want to play a subpar course, listen to other people playing music 3 holes away, wear cutoff shorts and tank tops, this is your place. Save yourself the aggravation and play River Falls Golf Club.

Only been there once, we made a tee time. Got there and the heavy rain was lightening up. They told us they werent letting anyone go golf for safety risk and to protect their course. Which I would have been completely understanding to, if we did not see a group of 6 advance to the back 9. Sucks to be told one thing and see another set of customers getting different treatment. Pure speculation, guessing they wanted to head home early and did not want to start a whole new group, considering we were the only new golfers to arrive. Said they would have called us to cancel but did not have our number. I cannot confirm or deny as my friend was the one to make the reservation. Anyway had to find a nearest golf course that would let us play, 45 min away. So ultimately cost us about an extra hour and a half of commuting to golf. Since we all committed to golfing that day. Hats off to applewood for anwering the phone and telling us just to come over, and then following through. All this being said, these are first world problems, just not a great first experience with one of the nearest golf courses to me. And we ended up getting in 18 for the day so all was good in my book.

Horrible patrons/members. Great course and staff. Nothing wrong with the course it was in great shape every aspect, but the patrons who were members behind us did not like our pace of play. I was in a 2some and our round time was 3hrs 52min. The score card has a round time of 4hrs 11min. We were well within our time and it was busy but I thought pace of play was great. We never had to wait for a green or tee box for more than 2min. The group behind us was the same, but they still complained about our pace of play twice. Tee boxes and greens are practically shared on some holes so carts from both holes park next to each other. On one hole we were finishing up teeing off as they were approaching the green. I said a friendly hey how's it going and he looked at me and said "what are you doing there is a whole hole in front of you hurry up." Then he mumbled some more things as I tried to ignore him. Then again on 17 same thing I heard him at the green complaining about us and we had to wait to the group in front anyways for again I remind you about 2min. I believe that the patrons that are members represent the course and in my 25 years of playing I have never had such a rude encounter on the course. There are plenty of other courses in the metro that have nice patrons so keep that in mind. It was barely worth the hour drive. The rude encounter really did get to me for about 5 holes. I was just flustered with them every time they approached. I guess move on to the next round.

Such a great course! I'm glad to see that the family who owns it is taking as much pride in it as my Great Uncle Lunny did when he owned it! He would be very proud.

It was my first time playing this course. I just started golfing again after a year with injuries. I didn't play very well but enjoyed the day golfing with three other gentlemen. The course was in good shape, the price was right. We all had a good time.

Great course that provides some challenging holes and drivable par 4's to temp you to push your luck. The course is well maintained and the owners have invested into the property and made improvements to the course. The employees are great and the price is right. We will continue to golf at Clifton Hollows.
