“I’ve stayed at a lot of motel 6s in the area and this is by far the nicest one! The staff is very helpful, I had explained to them that I had to book a room in Brookfield extended stay because they were full the first night I planned on staying and they said if I would have called them they would have found a room for me. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and asked me about my travels as I was from out of state and he sounded like he genuinely cared. He explained to me that they try to keep the pets on the first floor which I would imagine is a good thing for people with dogs. When I got to my room I got scared that a dog and people were in the room but I was mistaken, he took the time to double check for me and didn’t give me a hard time about it. They do allow 2 pets per room with an additional fee for more( it’s best to disclose the pets at check in as there may be fees of like $50 if you don’t, but pets are free so idk why anyone wouldn’t say something).

The rooms are extremely well taken care of and very clean. Modern furniture, mini fridge and microwave in the room. Non smoking rooms making everything feel clean, there is a smoking area in the back of the hotel but it wasn’t being used when I was there. Ac worked great, tv was modern flat screen with free cable. Bathroom was very clean and well maintained. The bed night stands had built in USB plugs and ac plugs on each side. Floors were new and paint on the walls looked pretty fresh.

They get a lot of construction works from a major project in town but everyone seemed respectful. They had boot cleaning stations outside the front entrance so it wasn’t like mud was being tracked in. The crowd seemed to be a mixture of long stay workers, sportsmen for Port Washington, and nicer families/ travelers. Felt very safe and was not worried about car break ins or shady people doing crimes. Beds were in great shape and didn’t have to worry about bed bugs or anything like that. Would almost put this in the same category as a Marriott for the amount of care the staff puts into this place. Not the don’t have breakfast but honestly that wasn’t something we needed. You can really tell the motel invests back into the property. Staff is very responsive, they have a phone next to the front desk that will call them when they step away so you will not have to worry about not being able to reach anyone if they step away. Overall I would say it’s in a category all of its own compared to other motel 6 across the country. If you see my other reviews, you will see I’ve stayed at some really bad properties, this is not one of them.
If you’re looking for something in northern Milwaukee metro or Port Washington, this is where I would recommend.”

“This is a very upscale and lovely Inn. Our room was spacious, our bed very comfortable. The continental breakfast had many options and was more than what we were expecting, it was amazing! The location is in walking distance of all the restaurants and stores. We can't wait to return!”

“I'd give this hotel a 4.7 star rating. It was very clean and the service was great. We didn't have a chance to try the restaurant but wished we would have. It was just a short stay but I will definitely go back here next time I visit the area.”

Manny restaurants, coffee/breakfast shops in walking distance.
Great historic area and surrounding neighborhood is all in walking distance. No car needed.

“Celebrated my 70th birthday here 5 years ago. Five years later we went to the island for my 75th. Once again we stayed at the Hotel Washington. After the years Jeanne recognized us and welcomed us home. A firm mattress and organic cotton sheets in a comfy, albeit small room. No TV's, no gym...you don't need them as entertainment and execise are all around you. The walking and birding are the pleasures here. You can even participate in a yoga session. Sixteen steps take you to the second floor. A building length hallway that takes you to your room and two communal bathrooms, which are kept spotless. Set your water temperature before you get into the shower. The controls are...sensitive. The breakfast nook provided eggs, scones, fruit and various quality cereals. The fridge had fresh milk and various milk substitutes..oat milk, soy milk. And a yogurt parfait that is to die for! The grounds are beautiful and beckon you to explore. Everywhere you go on the island, you will hear red eyed vireos. I think they should be the island's official bird. Bottom line spending time on Washington Island is a real treat, The Hotel Washington is a classy place to stay while you're there, Jeanne and her staff will make you think you are welcomed and valued as a customer. It's like coming home. The restaurant serves outstanding food. We will not wait five years to return again. This will be a yearly trip from now on.”

“We were there for a wedding. The rooms are beautiful and nicely equipped. Beds comfortable. Only issue was with check in. We checked in right at 3 pm and rooms weren't available, we had to wait approximately 20 minutes and being there two nights, we never got any room housekeeping. Bed wasn't made, no new towels. We left them on the floor indicating we wanted clean ones. Very disappointed in that.”
