From 1942-1957 James Tellen created 30 statues out of concrete. Nestled in beautiful Black River there are lovely trails near the Black River. Amazing statues from Abraham Lincoln to Saint Peter, you will be impressed. Very relaxing.

It’s part of a series of sculpture parks based on self taught artists in the region. It’s a well marked garden with a short trail, you might only spend thirty minutes here but the little map is helpful and the quirky sculptures are worth seeing, if not for the artwork itself, for the novelty and the assortment of content. I was sad that Mary was being repaired but the other saints were beautiful.

Beautiful quiet place, perfect for a sunny fall day. I've been to several sculpture gardens like this in other states where the creator/artist fell into this hobby and its amazing to see. So thankful owners continue to allow the public to experience ❤️

Interesting place. Stumbled upon it when we were in the area looking for parks. The sculptures have aged, but are unique to look at and creative. There is a parking lot, and trails throughout the sculptures. The sculpture part of the trail can be done within quarter mile to half a mile. It's not very hilly, and pretty easy to access. The trail does continue on into the forest, but there are no sculptures after the first quarter mile. Love that this was free and open to the public. It's a very shaded walk, and interesting to see. Very quiet. It would be a neat place to just come and think. We didn't spend a ton of time here, maybe about 20-25 minutes, as it does not take long to walk through the sculptures. Came with my school age children, and they found it interesting as well.

Pretty cool place! The boys loved seeing all the sculptures. A gem hidden back in black river.

Lovely woodland garden to walk and view the sculptures. Not sure why someone said creepy and belong in a horror movie. The garden is in a remote area of town and lovely drive getting there. The garden walk is short but worth the visit. I was impressed that someone had such vision to create these sculptures.

Yes it's a little creepy and weird, but its a quick walk through a living example of outsider art. Adjacent to a public preserve for a longer walk. Not everybody's cup of tea but its the type of place that, if you appreciate art, is worth a visit

Is cool and unique roadside attraction that doesn't cost anything. I'm not sure how to donate but anyone who has more information should add to this post. It's very nice and secluded very peaceful so much so that you'll probably see some deer just hanging out right next to the trail. The sculptures are really cool and unique I'm glad that we have something like this in the area.

What a hidden find! Many sculptures on this large rectangular acreage right in town. The James Tellen woodland sculpture garden.
