I've gone to Schierl many times over the years, although not as often since I moved away from Stevens Point. I've always had good experiences here and they were able to fit me in for an appointment for what I thought was a replacement for my shocks and brakes.
I almost put off getting my car looked at and just living with the squeaking until I got some other large expenses taken care of (dentist, vet bills, furnace repair, etc). It's very lucky for me that I went in when I did because I was essentially driving a death trap.
Turns out that my rear shock mounts had rusted away from the body of my car. I was one bad pothole from having a really bad accident. It wasn't even safe for me to drive the half hour home to Iola.
Oopsie poopsie.
It DEFINITELY wasn't the outcome I wanted, but I was grateful that the mechanic (sorry I don't remember his name 😬) took the time to explain everything and gave me some very good ideas what to do. I may have done a lot of swearing and crying (my poor, poor Ford Escape with 240,000 miles) once I left, but I'm thankful for being treated with professionalism and courtesy (and probably a bit of pity).

On a trip and located the shop online when our boat trailer tire was wobbling. All we needed to do was have the boat trailer tire changed. They would not take the 15 minutes to help change a tire and said they could do it the next day. Went next door to NAPA store and bought a jack and did it ourselves.
Would NOT recommend this tire shop.

The customer service is amazing, both at the Tomahawk location and the Stevens Point store. The Tomahawk folks are ready to help with even minor repairs or just adding air on a cold day. They’re great folks! I called the Point store while having an issue on the road and they told me to come right in. Turns out one of my tires was losing chunks of rubber, not safe! I had no appointment, it was Friday afternoon, but they got me right in, found 4 tires at one of their stores and had them brought over. They were able to repair my worse than I thought brakes at the same time. They were amazing at both stores and I’ll be a loyal customer of both going forward.

I had a nail in my tire. It was late in the afternoon and I still had a few hours to drive for a meeting. The staff was able to get me in, and patched my tire for free. It only took them about 30 min. I was very impressed with that kind of service. I would strongly recommend them for any of your tire needs.

I dropped two tires off for repair around 4:30pm on Thursday. (Nail in one, I believe the other needs a valve stem replaced) I was told they would be done sometime the next day. Called Friday afternoon and I was told they weren't done, but would be by the end of the day.
I went back at 5pm, and was told they still hadn't been repaired, so I asked for them back.
The only reason I give two stars instead of one is because the gentleman behind the counter was genuinely apologetic and helped me carry my unrepaired tires to my car.
I understand it is a free service, however you should not offer a service if it cannot be completed in a timely manner. Now my vehicle is still on a spare and my trailer has one good wheel, it is a Friday night, and I need to use the trailer tomorrow. Had I known they wouldn't have time, I would have had them repaired elsewhere.

Daughter got a flat on the interstate 30 miles south of Point and Schierl was the only shop within many miles that had a replacement tire in the size we needed. Better yet, they had two used matching tires in the correct size! Busy as hell, but didn’t matter, they snuck us in and made sure my daughter was good to go for the rest of her trip! Super understanding and more than willing to help make a bad day better! Great job Schierl and enjoy the cookies! 🍪

Well, if I hit a wooden pole I'd be dead. I hit a curb and some snow like a sane human being. These guys believe my tall tale and charged me for the labor of the alignment photo to follow. I don't like that these guys believed my tall tale.
