Mostly I'm writing this review to help those out there looking for a facility for a loved one with dementia. Hyland Crossings is part of a Capri Community...and the management staff runs BOTH the independent & assisted living apartments and the memory care facility. My Father In Law moved there in early June and My Mother in Law moved into an independent apartment. My MIL LOVES the community for her....the people, the staff, the food, the friendliness of other independent and assisted residents. HOWEVER, we discovered that the "Memory Care" facility is really more of an "enhanced assisted living" environment and not really a place to send family members with moderate to severe dementia or memory care issues. If your loved one with memory care problems doesn't have issues with incontinence, wandering, insomnia or behavioral aggression then this facility would be fine. It's a nice place with large rooms. However, I really don't think the staff is very experienced in dealing with memory care issues and we were called so many times. Once we moved my FIL to a REAL Memory Care Facility with certified memory care staff and caregivers he was happy. Hyland was just not the right fit for him....he didn't last there two months. He is much happier where he is now and he is less combative. I wrote this review because I don't see any reviews for the Memory Care in the past year...not sure if the management has changed or if staffing is new or what...I just felt obligated to share that OUR experience was not the same as those who wrote reviews over a year ago and that it's so hard to make the decision to place a loved one with memory care issues into a facility anyway. Reading reviews is subjective I know, but now that my FIL is in a facility that obviously has a lot of experience caring for patients with dementia I see the difference in how HE reacts to the people there. He truly has found a home he is proud to be a part of.

I can’t say enough about the staff at Hyland Crossing Memory Care Unit at Sun Prairie. They are friendly, caring and very helpful. All the staff helped to make our mother Kay busy with different activities and comfortable for the last six months of her life. Since the coronavirus situation the staff were her family since we couldn’t visit as much as we would of liked. So again I want to thank everyone who worked there. THANKS

In the summer of 2016 we made the difficult decision to place my father, who had Alzheimers, into Memory Care. Me and my family toured five or six different facilities. None of them seemed to be the rifgt fit until we toured Hyland Crossings. The staff certainly appeared to be attentive and caring. What we discovered over the next two and a half years was that they were much more than that.In September of 2016, one of the staff members, Sheila, volunteered to escort my Dad to our daughter's wedding in Baraboo. She even used one of Hyland Crossing's vehicles to transport him. Sheila stayed with my Dad at the wedding for most of the evening, allowing our extended family and friends to see him.The care the staff showed to my Dad as he declined was extraordinary. We shared tears and hugs with many of them. They provided the care and dignity that my Dad deserved!David Hafeman

Our mom was welcomed to Hyland Crossing a few months ago. The staff is very kind, caring, professional, and knowledgeable about how to care for dementia residents. They communicate well with family members and address all of our concerns. It is a very safe, clean, and beautiful community. Our mom loves the food and they treat her just like family. They have fun personalized activities for the residents everyday. Our mom has made caring friendships there.I highly recommend Hyland Crossing and Capri Communities. We are so grateful to all the staff there.

Hello! Both my mother and my mom-in-law lived in Hyland Campus. We initially chose it for the continuum of care- they started in Independent Living, moved to Assisted Living and then on to Memory Care (both diagnosed with Alzheimer’s).The buildings are all lovely and the meals are great, but by far the most important to our family was the staff. I cannot say enough about how amazing they all are. The culture of every environment starts at the top- Renee (Executive Director) is wonderful and McKenna (Ass’t Exec. Director) is absolutely extraordinary! My moms were always treated with kindness, compassion and respect- really, like family. Although there are restrictions due to COVID, the care staff has provided activities, meals and entertainment while still having residents social distance. It is a true comfort to know she has the very best care possible in this incredibly difficult time.My precious mother in law passed earlier this year, my mom is still doing well in Memory Care. Our family will be forever grateful for all the kindness and compassion shown not just to my moms, but also to the rest of our family. I cannot recommend Hyland Crossings more highly for any family looking for their loved ones.

We just moved my Mom from Hyland Park to Hyland Crossings, due to her dementia issues. We absolutely LOVE it there. It was hard to move someone with high anxiety and dementia, but they were instrumental in helping us through this process and did it in a way that helped assure Mom and helped her feel ok about it. We didn’t know how she would do, but she loves it there. The great ratio of staff to residents is a huge plus and helps her feel secure. The staff has been great about communication with us, which is important especially during covid. They have kept us aware of any issues we need to know about and answer any questions or concerns we have about Mom’s health almost immediately. We have also been able to visit her regularly in a very safe way. They are very intentional about keeping the residents safe and free from any exposure to covid. They also have quite a few other activities to keep her engaged and interacting with others. We are VERY happy with our decision to move Mom here and she loves it, too!

Hyland Crossings has been the very best facility and care staff for my very elderly father. The care received and professional management of the Memory Care facility far exceeded my experience with other facilities in southern Wisconsin. My father was able to feel at home, loved, well-fed and respected during his stay. All of Hyland Crossings staff also have shown me the upmost respect and attention to any concerns or requests I made. Thank you all for the love and care your have shown my father and our family. I will always be grateful for you.

My mom moved there after the death of our father/ her husband. We all struggled with this major change in our lives. Then Covid happened. All I can say is that the staff especially Sarah, has been a god send. So kind and helpful. Even if to calm my fears. My mom has flourished. She gets 3 meals plus a beautiful apartment that has become home. She is active and the staff is always there to help. I live a hour and half away but I know my mom is in the best care and love.

They have been keeping my dad with Alzheimer’s safe during COVID. They are the best! They also were patient with us while we waited for VA money to pay our bill. Thank you!

This facility is so wonderful. The Staff, the food, just everything about Hyland Park is beyond exceptional. Being I live out of state, I sleep well at night knowing they're taken care of like family at Hyland Park.
Thank You Hyland Park ♥️

Crossings took great care of our parents at the end of their lives in the last 8 months. They were comfortable there in a very difficult time. The staff was outstanding-- flexible, caring, efficient. The management-McKenna and Renee-- is very helpful, knowledgable, ethical, and accomodating. We recommend Crossings highly to families who need care for loved ones needing memory care.

My Father was welcomed to Hyland Crossing 3 months ago. I cant believe how kind and caring everyone has been to him and my family there. Its a newer, very clean building and a perfect setting for him with his advanced Alzheimers. They work as a team here and treat him just like family. They work with the residents everyday to maintain or improve their short term memory issues too. His has actually improved which is amazing to see myself every week.I highly recommend looking at Highland Crossing and Capri Communities for any parent or loved one that needs to go somewhere at their time of need. Its a very stressful time for their families and not a lot of time to make a decision. I can say I’ve seen personally the care and concern from the top on down from Capri Communities and Hyland Crossing. They truly do care. ?

My mother and father spent one year, and 4 months, respectively at the care center. They and the family loved the place, the employees and the residents. My mother especially felt loved, cared for and accepted. I highly recommend Hyland Crossings Memory Care to anyone who needs a place to go where genuine feelings are an everyday event and special care is taken for every resident.

I have worked at Hyland Crossings for almost a year. I feel blessed to work with a wonderful caring management team and staff who care about the well being of our residents as well as each other. Our residents and families become a part of our lives. I would recommend Hyland Crossings to families with loved ones needing memory care or people looking for a job in health care. It is a great place to live and work.
