I visited this morning in hopes of finding a suitable yarn substitute for a project I was doing and had originally purchased the wrong yarn. The shop owner was there and immediately helped me and explained things to me and was a very appreciated wealth of information. I will definitely be back often.

I have been knitting for over 20 years, and I like to support local yarn shops. I was in the area from out of town, planning to buy a sweater's worth of yarn, but felt uncomfortable with the employee's approach. She kept commenting condescendingly as I browsed my potential selections. I am very knowledgeable about yarns, including their weight and fiber content, and know what I am looking for. Had I needed assistance I would have asked for it. In the end, I felt so uneasy about the shopping experience that I decided to purchase the yarn online instead. There was some great yarn there and I definitely would have purchased at least $70 worth, had my experience been more positive.

Horrible staff! I was thinking about picking up crochet as a hobby and the lady working didn’t try to help me at all but instead followed me around the store watching my every single move! The lady working was so condescending towards me when she finally did come up to ask if I needed help. I said I was interested in crocheting as a new hobby and when I asked her a question she answered back like me and the question were dumb. In which I told her, “You don’t have to be rude!” And she still kept that attitude so I put down the items I was going to purchase and went to Hobby Lobby instead where I was helped. Why would I buy from a small shop after that treatment! I would rate 0 if I could!

This is a really neat yarn shop. They have all kinds of yarn in every color imaginable. They have lots of things you can make on display, and they also have lots of how-to books to teach you how to make things.

Best quilt store ever. Organized by fabric type. Lots of panels, already cut from the fabric. I bought one. Helpful clerks. A winner! Also, it is upstairs, but there is an elevator, which was great because I am slightly disabled.

Second time I have driven over an hour one way to find no one there when thier hours are listed as open. This time I was able to look around but no one was there manning the shop the whole time I was there. I had to go downstairs and ask someone to come upstairs to cash me out. They should at least put out a sign or something saying when they will be back if they don't have someone manning the place.

I love Linda, the proprietor of this small shop on the upper level of the Dept store. First, this building is 128 years old and fantastic. But, when you climb the steps, you find yourself in a world of yarn, thread, buttons, floss and many finished items! But the real gold here is Linda herself. I learned in about 3 seconds I was pulling backwards..no lecture. No judgement. Just corrective conversation. She helped me with my sweater problem in a few minutes..sat with me to make sure I got "the hang" of it..then casually went back to her project..total cost for this? Nothing..knitting is becoming less and less coveted, but if your in her shop, you wouldn't know that!
