I gave one star because there are no negative stars. Their cilantro was floating in a water bath and wilted, picked the best of the little they had, but had to throw it away as when we got home gnats were flying out of it. Rubber limes, striped arachara? No fresh salsa or pico de Gallo, just runny red and green water with seeds. I could go on. Used to be a fantastic store. Sad face :( , had to take cilantro outside, gnats everywhere now. No fresh fruit and vegetables. I was wondering why the place was empty on a Friday night. Used to be packed with shoppers. Never going there again. They did have christian music playing, that's nice. But Christian music doesn't replace quality products, if anything it makes christians look bad, or deceiving. Selling nasty stuff and throwing a god label on it. Arachara 1/4 fat

It's OK. I liked the previous owners better. They had a better selection of things to choose from.

Coming up from Chicago to rural Wisconsin means it can be hard to find good Mexican food. The much-larger Daniels grocery has a few items in its "ethnic" section, but this is limited to salsa, refried beans, hard-shell taco shells, and stuff like that. At La Frontera, you can find just about everything and anything you'd need to cook. The vegetable & fruit section is always fresh, and the deli offers great cuts. Because they cater mostly to Hispanic customers, most of the products on the shelves are from Hispanic companies but there are of course many other staples. Also attached is a great taqueria from which we frequently order a bunch of stuff to make tacos/burritos at home--the guacamole is fantastic! The meal is far better than many of the Mexican restaurants that are around. They recently underwent a renovation (July 2022) and it looks great.

First time inside Carnicera y Fruteria La Frontera. We were looking for the perfect Flank or Skirt Steak. The Meat Counter had a terrific cut of Skirt Steak PLUS offering to tenderize it for us. He did all tenderizing meticulously by hand. A Feast awaits us tonight. The store has everything you'd need to make Mexican meals with a few exotic items to boot. Fresh fruit & veggies galore. Fixin's available for the everyday meal or the weekend extravaganza.La Frontera also has a cute Restaurant attached. It was closed so didn't get to sample their wares. Menu is attached below.People friendly, efficient; prices seemed fair, reasonable. Negotiations for larger quantities seemed likely to succeed. Don't hurt to ask.Store seems pretty busy and well stocked so I believe they'll survive through Covid.

Gr4at place to get shopping done. They have everything from grooming products, to treats, to fresh meats, and even warm foods depending on the day. The staff are always friendly and overall it added to the very positive experience. Definately coming back when I'm in the area.

Everything was fresh, good quality. The jalapeños y serranos were a bit warped, rotting. Tomatillos were getting bad but I still would go back.
