So we went to pet world today to look at axolotls and my family was asking simple questions about the axolotls and they asked if they had ever been sick before and they went over to their counter and asked 3 different people to get that answer and they said "idk" and apparently we learned that they don't allow bunny's anymore for d*** reasons and also there was died fish and we show them and they look so sad and it will be a lot for the axolotl they were 75$ and we didn't know if they were sick so we would spend 200 for the investment,food and fun things all over some sick axolotls. And when the person that worked there said "sorry" to my family and my family didn't have it and told him "no you're not sorry" and the guy who worked there was complaining about my family. There were more and more less animals each day and there were not a lot of snakes, hamsters,etc I didn't even want to give them one star they really suck that badly

This place is not the way it used to be. Fish dead. They can not answer simple questions about if the pet we were looking at I'd it has been sick in there care. They don't sell rabbits anymore cuz it's illegal apparently for them to. The workers were rude I ask them about the snake and and said oh it bites and then the guy had a frog get lose ? never going back

Their variety of small animals and fish is great! I was surprised by the number of animals on hand. They also have a great selection of accessories, food, and toys for small animals as well as for dogs and cats.

The staff was extremely helpful in finding my 2 dogs healthy food. Also, a nice selection of dog things. My daughter bought her first bunny there, he lived a long time.

PLEASE PLEASE do not buy ANY SMALL PETS from here if they are still in cages with pine or cedar bedding! Super long story, won't get into all of it but the jest of the story is that we bought my daughter a guinea pig on 2/18/23. We realized it had "stuff" in its eyes we thought was sleep but it's breathing was very fast also. The next day the eye stuff and breathing got worse, and by the next day Monday, my daughter woke me up crying her eyes out that something was wrong. I took the pig back, bought one from Pet world on Hwy 100 that looked much healthier but also kept in cedar/pine bedding and I while at the Waukesha location I advised them that line/cedar bedding causes eye and respiratory issues in pets especially if it's kiln dried. The store manager Sara was VERY apologetic, refunded my money and the store employees did advise me that the pig I brought back in the day before DID in fact die. Please don't keep your pets in bedding like this. They need the paper bedding or puppy pads. If you see them still using cedar or pine bedding please report them

it has amazing stuff for my pets BUT the bunny tanks are so small not enough bedding and the hamsters are in mini tanks with the mesh wheels and they can get broken legs if their leg gets stuck and the chin has nothing in its cage but a see thru hut and it has missing patches of hair and we got a fish from here and it died and i had also gotten a mouse and she was very sick and ended up passing the next night most of the animals are treated unfairly here and its very sad to see

Maybe not best prices but employees are great to deal with. Employees are great at this location and a good spot to bring in pets. Enjoyed my experience.

We bought a very sweet guinea pig here!Unfortunately, my 3-year-old was a little ruff with her and it died 3 days after we bought it.I called the store after I noticed it had stopped eating and they walked me through the steps to help it heal. They spent half an hour on the phone with me figuring out how to help the poor creature. I had an appointment scheduled to bring it in for a check when it passed that night.Very sad family and a large lesson to learn but the staff here made that process much less tolling. Helping me coach my kids and offering support!We have since gotten 2 more guinea pigs and they are doing great. Although it is a hard lesson to learn I stand by young children learning how to care properly for pets.Thank you to the staff there for helping us through that time!
