Sad / Confused / EnragedBeen going here for 6 years, this past year we found out our dog had kidney disease. Everything was fine and dandy, great service, positive vibes all around. It wasn't until much later, after subjecting our dog to unnecessary treatments and racking up exorbitant bills, that we discovered the truth: our dog was in stage 4 failure (WHICH we didn’t even find out from VCA) How could they withhold such critical information from us? How could they toy with our emotions and exploit our trust? The second vet stated that this should have been treated months prior (when we found out). We were blindsided...We were never told how severe her situation was and were convinced we could fix our dog, manage this disease, get her on track to live her life. We entrusted this so-called "professional" establishment with her care, but instead of being forthright and transparent, they kept us in the dark about the severity of our dog's condition. The second vet said that they could help but strongly suggested we take her to WVRC for 24hr care. ADMITTING that would be best for our dog.Only 6 years old and I feel like we could have done more to help her.I asked about our dogs bloodwork many times, but now I know never to trust and to ask for the paper copy myself. We were also never shown any bloodwork, ultrasound, xray UNLESS WE ASKED.Instead of providing proper care and guidance, they chose to prioritize their bottom line. Shame on them for preying on vulnerable pet owners and for failing to uphold the basic principles of honesty and integrity.I will never be coming here again.Disappointed and heartbroken to say the least.

Was sad to learn that Dr. Toetz is no longer at VCA, however Dr. Centgraf has always been great with my pup. The staff is always willing to do everything they can to get my dog in when she's in a pickle, or if they can't, they're quick about sending the emergency vet the information they need. Everyone's always very kind and you can tell they really love animals here. Prices have always been reasonable as well.

We have been going to this clinic for a while for all our dogs, but recently one of them became pretty ill and the entire staff was very compassionate and accommodating. They took all the appropriate precautions and the Doctor was very thorough with what his suspicions were and what tests were needed to give a proper diagnosis.

I cannot commend the caring team at VCA of Waukesha enough. Everyone at the office is truly amazing. A week ago our Mastiff was having some serious health issues. Not only did they get her in last minute but the team assisted us with bringing her in and stayed to make sure she was ok. We have been to several other vets over the years but none have been this wonderful. Thank you so much.

I took my two pet rats here to be put to sleep because they were 2.5 years old and had large tumors. I had never brought them in or been to this clinic, but I was treated as if I had been going there for years. The staff worked to fit me in that same afternoon, and made clay paw prints of both rats’ paws. Dr. Toetz was so kind and empathetic. I could really tell she cared. Everyone I interacted with was so wonderful during a difficult time. About a month later, they sent me a sympathy card that everyone signed and wrote personal notes in. The staff here truly go above and beyond, and made a really difficult situation much better.

Updating my review because it has been four years. We still absolutely love this facility and the staff. We are now reaching the 8-year mark with one dog and one cat and the 6-year mark with our other dog. While Dr. Centgraf is our main vet, we've never had any issues at all when needing to work with another vet. And all of the vet techs, grooming staff, and other support staff are awesome. You KNOW these are all people who really love keeping our pets happy and healthy. Our pets like going to the vet because they know that while it may not be all fun, they will get LOTS of extra attention, love, and even treats.I can't imagine going anywhere else!

I stopped coming here after an unfortunate interaction over the phone. My dog had parvo as a puppy so I have always been overly cautious. I had gone here for over a year, and called when he was having diarrhea w blood for three days. I had taken him to the vet for this twice before, and after the second time they told me to wait it out in the future but three days was more than I was comfortable with. Whoever answered the phone told me that they could not believe I waited three days and that it was not acceptable and I should have called sooner. I tried to explain why I waited (through tears) but they continued to interrupt me and kick me while I was down. After all of that they told me there were no appointments for a few days, so I went to the ER vet and after $800 they told me he swallowed some gravel and he would pass it (exactly what happened before). Please train your receptionists/vet techs in bedside manner

I’ve tried, with all three of my dogs, to love this place because it’s close to home. The veterinarians are knowledgeable, but the compassion is missing. Too many meds and vaccines are pushed. Left the groomer today “shamed”. There is no connection for me. I’ve finally made up my mind to not go back.

I've been trying to get my 18.5 year old ragdoll in for a shave. I've been waiting 2months for a reply as to when they can see her. I still haven't heard anything after this amt of time. She desperately needs it because she stopped grooming herself efficiently and I can't do it. Also my other cat was extremely injured on her leg. She goes outdoors and apparently had gotten caught on a fence and ripped off her entire upper arm skin/fur. Taking her in to WVRC they repaired it. She bit off some bandaging and I called SVC and was told Dr. Toetz didn't have enough knowledge to repair the small amount of damage to the missing exposed skin and to return to the ER, WVRC. WHAT?? A vet can't fix a small torn skin/fur??

Dr. Toetz is absolutely lovely. Her and her staff were so loving and helpful with our boy. She really puts her all into helping you and your pet and is so incredibly understanding and will lay out all options and work with you. When the time came where we had to say goodbye to our baby, her and her staff were so compassionate and gentle with him and us. Thank you again for everything.

We take our animals here to see Dr. Toetz. She is AMAZING! She is so kind and caring, not pushy about having to follow one way of treatment. She really cares about my animals.
