Needed to go in to renew my CDL. Was a little worried because the line to the front desk was backed up into the entry area, but it moved quickly and was given a ticket to the appropriate counter. I was able to get all my paperwork filled out, got my picture taken, and eye test done for renewal and I was out of there in about 25 minutes total.
Everyone was very helpful, polite, and had a real sense of urgency to move people through the process. This experience was a night and day difference compared with getting my first temporary license in the same DMV back in 2006.

The road test guys are EXCELLENT. & some of the counter staff.. some can be really abrasive, but most of them are way, way, wayyyyy friendlier than 10 or so years ago. They take the time to explain things and are overall pretty great.
Thanks to Matt & the road test guy with the beard - they were both very informative and patient with my son on his tests.

Unfriendly incompetent staff that treat people like garbage and even when you bring everything needed they still find a reason to have an issue with it. They are absolutely rubbish at their job and make it their job to be as inconvenient and incompetent as possible.

Staff are not friendly at all. If you don't like what your job descriptions are then don't accept the job offering. Misleading people by giving faulty information over the phone then at the front desk check in should have notified wrong paperwork or more information needed but no we have to wait another 15 mins for another clerk who told us the paperwork can't be used. You on the clock to assist customers don't waste their time. Customer service is not for everyone. Please leave your baggage outside of work.

Helped my husband due to lack of knowledge and care at dmv in greenbay.
We were told by Green Bay dmv that we need to be registered to vote in order to get an ID and our cars registered. We called wausau dmv because I have always had great results with them! They told us what papers needed to do what we asked. They said they could definitely get everything we needed with the documents we have.
We will definitely be traveling to wausau as they are always pleasant and helpful. And don't LIE.

We only have to go to the DMV once every few years for various reasons, In my earlier years, it would be the same every time I went. For the last 10 years, it has been different each time. So my first expectation now is "Go there like it's a new building."
My most recent trip when I arrived instead of going right, now I go left.
Instead of walking for a few steps to get to the service desk.It's right when I walk in the door. Surprisingly , it is not packed with people as it used to be.
A staff was helpful and mostly pleasant. It.
Is all modern and up-to-date with their systems. Overall, it was a good visit. I don't fear the DMV as I did when I was in my 20s and 30s.
The only reason I went recently was because I needed the real ID star on my Driver's license, otherwise, I would still opt to do most of my DMV items online, which is an option now.
No Offense to the staff or facility which are fine.It's just more convenient to do it at home.

It's always a waist of time at this place. You wait for a long time only to be told the reason they can't help you; even if you have all paperwork filled out.

Being from California. Im still in shock at how there is no hour wait time and a line around the building. Great customer service too. I'm not used to that where I'm from.
