I had a great experience when my lab was taken for end of life. However, I missed a couple appointments and cancelled late and the last appointment I missed was due to my husbands heart attack. Sorry, VCA was the last thing on my mind. I had a restriction put on our account and they refused to see us due to last minute call to cancel appointments and the no-show in November of 2023 in efforts to care for my husband’s heart attack. VCA does not do anything for the countless amount of times they are extremely late for appointments especially during COVID when sometimes forced to wait outside in a car for up to 30 minutes waiting for someone to show up for the appointment. I don’t know if VCA has gotten new staff/doctors but complete double standards. Not to mention all the extras they like to add to charge people more than what they need. Goodbye and Good Riddance!

VCA was very kind and caring when we had to bring in our longtime pet for end of life services. They explained things well and handled our girl with care, and gave us as much time as we needed to say goodbye as well. Also impressed with Peaceful Pines and the services they offer. Thank you!

Like most pet owners, I am a bit touchy when it comes to my pups. VCA was recommended to me by my sister when I got my dogs a couple of years ago. If I had felt the least bit dissatisfied at VCA, I would have found another vet immediately. I have always been happy with how me and my dogs were treated here. I appreciate that when I've brought my dogs in for an issue, I am explained my options in a way I can understand and the associated cost. I do not have anything to compare VCA to, since I have never gone anywhere else. The only thing I could recommend, although again, this may be typical at an animal hospital, is for the floors to be cleaner. They're sticky and I always feel the need to shower my dogs when I get home.

I had a not great experience here the other day but the communication was so stellar that I have to appreciate that. The follow up and explanations were helpful and I had to realize that with age, my dog’s behavior is changing. They really do have a variety of personalities to work with and they try to make everyone comfortable.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. They are price gougers. Their primary objective is to get as much money from you as possible. Prolonging treatments in an attempt to require you to schedule more visits and pay for additional testing when they have information needed to provide treatment. Poor record keeping and notification system. Save your time. Save your money and go somewhere else. They take no account ability for themselves.

I am so super saddened that after almost 3 years of using VCA I will most likely not be coming back. You guys took amazing care of my pomsky who is no longer with a few years ago... You guys have been taking care of my Jup for 2 years now and have always handled her so well with her high anxiety.. Until most recently...Her last appointment your vet tech and assistants chased my puppy around the room to get her a shot to put her to sleep due to her anxiety, then you guys cornered my baby girl in the corner while still trying to give her this shot!! Almost 45 minutes later or so, the staff decided to take Jup in back and give her the shot. To only find out once she was finally given the shot, she was so upset and traumatized, the shot didn't even work!! With this, almost a hour later, as my baby is in back crying and yelping, your staff finally decided to tell me the shot didn't work and there was nothing they could do but reschedule!Breaks my heart cause my puppy is my world, and you guys did not treat her with care...

My cat was sick for a few years and VCA kept claiming he had kidney failure and they just had to keep doing test cause they don’t know what else is wrong (basically just draining my bank account) finally I said enough and brought him somewhere else to find out he was dying he had bone cancer. VCA robbed me and put my cat through HELL! SAME ON YOU VCA! Don’t ever bring your animals here!!!!!!!

VCA Wausau has been caring for our “furd” for 12 years. They treat us like family because to them we are. No matter how busy they are they find a way to help us in the most difficult or scary times. We know we can count on them. We have careclub and love it! It helps to ensure our pets receive their routine care shots and procedures by allowing us to have predictable costs monthly versus periodically getting hit with a bigger bill. The vets and their entire staff are caring and oh so thoughtful!! I ALWAYS get a call the next morning to check in and follow up after every appt whether it is for a routine visit or an illness. I have access to a 24 hour help line that I’ve used countless times and they squeeze us in even if it means working through their lunch hour. That’s better care than I receive from my own Dr! Thank you VCA for all that you all do, you are a valued asset in Wausau!

Even though my story ends sadly … i am happy to say we’ve brought our cats there through the years. Recently my 14 year old boy had a UTI. Did bloodwork and found that he was in Stage 4 kidney disease. By vet recommendation he was given an antibiotic injection, switched his food to k/d wet and dry. Also supplemented at home hydration with subcutaneous fluids. He made it to week 3 after initial diagnosis.
I want to acknowledge TORI (wausau clinic) for all her support and care. Fritz was helped over the ? bridge in her loving arms wrapped in his favorite blanket. ?? TORI has a heart of gold and patience beyond belief. Today i received condolence cards from VCA Companion care and from Peaceful Pines.
Even with a broken heart ? i thank you all, especially TORI ??

I've always been quite pleased and impressed with service, care, advice...last time not so much. I brought my elderly dog in to address 'senior' issues and for some assistance in knowing what to do here at 'the end of life's period. The vet, maybe Julie?....I don't know her name, I liked her THAT much. She showed and 'told' me with her demeanor and manner that we didn't matter. Or she just doesn't care. Maybe it was because my dog needs a bath terribly and probably stunk. But I am having difficulty with all of the 'senior' issues right now....a good place to bathe her....getting her in and out of tub...getting her out of the house...Her manner stunk just as bad as my dog probably stinks.I/we won't see her again. It's Dr. Brandi for me and my doggo

I am extremely impressed with this clinic! They are thorough, answer all questions, and help weigh the pros and cons. They communicate via text which is extremely convenient during the work day. They call to check in and truly care about animals. I highly recommend this vet clinic!

We just had to send our 20 year old cat "Emma" over the Rainbow Bridge with the caring and compassionate help of the VCA staff. They allowed us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes. Thank you.
