Kathy Shades has a large variety of products, designs, and colors to choose from. The staff is professional, courteous, patient and easy to work with. Tom did such a wonderful job putting up Roman shades in my dining room and kitchen. A picture doesn’t do it justice I’m very pleased I will use Kathy shades again in the future.

Just got my shades installed by Mike. 10 windows of all shapes and sizes and the shades and installation are perfect. My house has a new energy of calm and quiet. Thanks Mike for the measure/quote/install. Great job.

Needed a 4ft continuous loop cord to replace a broken one. WOW, this guy charged $20 for basically a piece of string. When I responded with astonishment, he proudly stated he would normally charge another $25 to install it on the blind. I removed the old and installed the new cord in seconds. Seriously, less than a minute. An after purchase online search found the same cord for $6 (My mistake for not searching prior). I've lived and worked in West Allis for 40+ years and I'm generally very supportive of local business, but this customer gouging was absolutely disgusting. Very surprised you're still in business! I won't be back! ZERO STARS!

This West Allis business was always a favorite of mine. I have sent many people there as well. Those days are over!!! I am saddened by the fact that they openly display their political views in a very offensive manner. There is F*** Biden" along with other political signs, visible to customers. This is working class West Allis. A quick repair that cost $40 two years ago, now costs $75. Wow!! I have two relatives who just purchased new homes and need window treatments. I was going to refer them to Kathy's but not anymore. I will be sure to let my friends know that this once friendly shop is no longer the same.

I purchased my blinds roughly 18 months ago and was very satisfied with the quality of the blinds. Today, we were removing the blinds hardware because we are getting our windows replaced, and we're quite frankly appalled at the installation. My window trim was absolutely mutilated, multiple different types of screws were used on the hardware, many holes drilled in places that honestly doesn't make sense. This installation was definitely "shady". Not sure how it's going to get put back together. Will update the rating based on how our efforts go to get this fixed. Because honestly the product is good and I like to shop local.

Kathys Shade Shop has amazing service and so talented. Tommy was so nice and refixed my messed up string on my custom Packer blind. The blind is 110% better then when I first purchased it online with another business. The turn around was so fast on restringing my blindThanks Tommy

Positive experience! Repaired my broken shades and ordered and installed a new shade. The entire process was quick, easy and affordable.

I ordered a shade to replace one that was not working (mechanical). Tommy came and measured. Then it started working and I cancelled that order in time. Then it stopped working and I called to put the order back in. I was told it would take 1-2 weeks. After 2 weeks I called and was told the order was never sent. Tommy said he called me in order to remeasure, but I never got that call. I then cancelled the order and will not deal with them again.

I’m giving 5 stars even though I haven’t shopped there yet (plan to tomorrow) because so many others have given 1 star simply based on personal/political views even though they didn’t do business there. Shame on them and I salute this company for exercising their God given right! ?????

Trash customer service, and completely unprofessional business. I called for a quick shade chain repair appointment on 9/1, and was told that earliest date was 9/10, 2 pm. As requested, I provided contact details.On 9/10 at 1:30 pm, I received a call and confirmed my 2 pm appointment. At 2:15 pm, I called the store to find out where the repair person was, and was told that he'd be there shortly. At 2:50 pm, I once again called the store and was told, "The repair person tried your building button, but didn't reach anyone, so he left." When I asked why my phone number - on which the appointment was confirmed at 1:30 pm - wasn't called, the response I got was, "He didn't have a phone with him." I was then offered a new repair time SEVERAL WEEKS LATER, despite the fault being completely on this place, and they refused to send someone back out to fix their mistake that day. It's 2021; what work repair person travels around without a phone?Undoubtedly, the company's reply to this will be defensive and attempt to blame the customer instead of taking responsibility for its own bad actions and trying to remedy the issue like a legitimate company would do. If you have any interest in actually getting repair work done as promised, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Mike was very helpful and knowledgeable about window treatments that could reduce drafts through our patio door. I appreciated his low-key approach, promptness in coming to our home to measure the door for the blind we ordered, and his timeliness in having the blind installed once it was available. Kathy's Shade Shop seems to have a good selection of products.

So I walk into the establishment with a blind that needed repair. The guy walks up no greeting or anything doesn’t say hello. Then goes on to tell me that the blind needs to be sent out for repair which will be $75-$100. Plus the cost of the repair which would be another one or $200. I paid $90 for the blind. Then he says oh well, sorry I can’t help you.

Wonderful little place with big service! ***** was very helpful without being pushy or pressuring for the entire experience. Showed us several options for custom shades after taking time to understand what we were looking for. Visited our house within a couple of days to measure and priced our top choices for our consideration, including being knowledgeable about the current sales for the various companies being considered. After our decision, he gave us a realistic timeline for ordering and set up installation. Showed up on time for installation, and was very respectful of our carpets (he wore shoe covers) and careful of the window woodwork during removal of old items and installation of new. We were very happy with the entire experience!

I happened to drive past this shop this week and saw the no mask sign. It was refreshing to see a business that refuses to live in fear. Yes, I care about others, yes I know it is deadly for some. Two members in my household have had it, one of my neighbors died. This virus has 98% survival rate. Ten months of shut downs and masks and it still here, just what is the end game? God brought us into this world and he will take us out in his timing not ours, until then live your life instead of hiding. Thank you Kathy's Shade Shop for taking a stand. Sorry I am not in the market for window treatments at this time, but I will be sure to tell my friends who are. Don't bother with your negative comments, I will not respond.
