I’ve never had a bad experience with Midcoast Auto. Since my first oil change several years ago with them, they’ve exclusively been my go-to shop for my auto maintenance AND repairs. I’d recommend Midcoast Auto in a heartbeat to anyone!
Great service, very knowledgeable, and never felt as though l’d been “had”.

My 2011 Mazda has been my old faithful for years now. I try my very best to take good care of it. Imagine the disappointment (and fear) when it suddenly stalled on a hill while I was driving. I thought buying a new car would be the best option, but after a referral, I also booked an appointment at Midcoast Auto. While I waited for the appointment date, I went to several different dealerships, but could not quite find a vehicle that felt like “mine”. Eventually, it came time for the appointment at Midcoast, I received a quote, approved the work and had my car back the very next day. Turns out my Mazda still felt like “mine”; it just needed some TLC. The customer service was great, the drop off and pick up were seamless and the repair was very affordable. They also determined I needed a little suspension work, and because I had such an awesome experience with the initial repair, I booked another repair right away. My car was done by 12pm the day after I dropped it off the second time. (I did not get an estimate for that repair prior to it being completed, but luckily it was also affordable). I dealt with two different individuals at the front desk via phone and in-person, and both were great. 5 stars across the board. No complaints. My baby drives like a new car! Shoutout to Jon and the team.

Pretty terrible experience with Midcoast. I took my cherished 1991 VW GTI to them early last fall and made sure to inform JR the car was my prized posession. I needed my clutch sorted, a head gasket replacement, and my parking brake fixed.
JR told me he was an old-school VW guy and estimated the work would be done in approximately 3 weeks. I initially felt good about leaving my car there, but ended up waiting about 4 months for everything to be completed, had to seek JR out for every update, and was ultimately very disappointed with their work.
JR called me on the day of the first significant snow of the season to inform everything was finally ready at a cost of $5,000! When I picked the car up, JR informed he washed it. I really wish he hadn't as the paint now has surface scratches over the entire body which require correction. On my way home from Midcoast, I quickly realized my shift linkage was not properly aligned. I couldn't get into reverse and forward gears were very hard to engage. When under the car to assess and remedy this issue, I noted extensive surface rust on the underbody, which was definitely not present when I dropped it off. On top of that, the main bolt for the front motor mount was only threaded half-way. Totally unacceptable!
I'm now taking the vehicle out of storage for the season and have to go over everything with a fine toothed comb to address anything else Midcoast may have overlooked. My search for a competent mechanic unfortunately continues.

I recently tried Midcoast Auto for the first time. The starter on our 2010 Civic needed attention. I met with Jon and discussed the symptoms. He was very knowledgeable on the subject, gave me two quotes for the job, new starter or rebuilt. Both estimates were reasonable. The work was completed as promised. All my questions were answered completely. I recommend Midcoast Auto and plan to return for the next repair job.

It says a lot about a company when you don't bother price shopping, but rather make them your one and only call! We've been going to Midcoast for over 15 years, and wouldn't have our vehicles repaired anywhere else. I don't even remember how I found Midcoast all those years ago, but I'm so incredibly thankful that I did!!

These guys were great! Speedy fix and super pleasant to deal with. I came in for a 120k mile service plus a repair on my bumper; they found a lot more damage than I thought and were very patient walking me through the costs and services that needed doing.
Extremely pleasant customer service and very fair estimates all around.
Picked up my car two days later and it looks great! Plus, their price for the service was lower than what the dealership quoted me 🤩

We've had only positive experiences with Midcoast Auto in West Allis! We now bring all three of our cars here. Their customer service is top-notch — friendly, responsive, and genuinely helpful. They’ve been great to work with every step of the way, making the process easy and stress-free. The costs have always been very reasonable, and I appreciate that they’re honest and upfront about everything. It’s clear they really care about their customers. Have dealt with this shop several times via carshield. Not a good experience, they have had my car a week for a waterpump and window motor! Gave them another chance recently on a parking sensor and ac compressor, they kept my car 8 days! And the parking sensor doesn't work at all. Very poor customer service would not recommend this shop
