Tool guy seemed mad at me for trying to turn in a dewalt tool for warranty. Called day ahead too and they left out details about bringing in a proof of purchase with your tool and that you are responsible for cost of shipping. Wasted a 2 hour trip. I want my $15 In gas back

Bought a garden tractor. Good people to work with. I buy other things there as well. They definitely have a full service hardware store with large selection.

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. Buying something downstairs (including new or used implements)? No problem, staff is a dream to work with and very knowledgeable and helpful about what they have in stock and where it is. Buying something upstairs? Better have your model number and serial number in your hand ready to go, or you're treated like a second rate citizen and help will not be rendered. For instance, needed a drive belt for a Toro Recycler, a lawn mower that really hasnt changed much since its inception with very few belt options in the first place. I had incomplete information on the mower as its my parents, but I did have the belt with me for comparison. Think I could get the guy to match it up to one of the 2 or 3 common belt sizes for this mower? Absolutely not, I didnt have M/N S/N. Funny enough, I compared it to the few belts Menards had and got it there. Ive also had similar issues trying to buy accessory products for a commercial grade Stihl trimmer, even with the model and serial number, as well as other mowers and blowers. I'll continue to shop downstairs, but will not waste my time upstairs any more as I seem to be nothing but an inconvenience to those behind the counter. I get it, the place is always busy, but to run customers out the door when the part is there and requires little more than a comparison? C'mon man.

I try to support local businesses but Tennies does not seem to support local customers, I bought a part there today that their website said was $35 dollars and was charged $55 dollars, when I asked why the price difference, I was told it cost more because I picked it up in person and they had to pay the counter guy which I can understand, but an extra $20 dollars. Had I ordered it online the cost was $35 dollars plus tax and $9.99 for shipping and handling for a total cost of $44.99 plus tax, and since they ship from their store they would have had to pay someone to pick the part, box it, and label the package and then mail it, and they can do all that for for $10 dollars cheaper than me coming in and giving them a part number and the parts guy spending 30 seconds pulling the part off the shelf? I can understand a counter fee but $20 dollars is way too much. I talked to Terry Tennie and he gave me $6 dollars off the price but also told me having the short conversation with me was wasting his time. If I have to buy a part online to get a better price there are many cheaper options than Tennies. I prefer to buy parts in person and can understand a counter fee, but $20 dollars is insane. BTW because of Terry's comment I bought the oil, oil filter and gasket sealer I needed elsewhere.

Excellent service. I take my snowblower and lawn mower for annual checkouts. They have always been great. For the actual store, very knowledgeable sales people. Very helpful when I bought my snow blower
