This place should be shut down immediately. Do not spend money here. I'm in the process of reporting this place for animal cruelty.

You want to know how I feel about this zoo? I went there to see how fair they treated their animals. After the gorilla charged the fence and had hatred in his eyes and was roaring at me, I realized these animals do not want this.

my husband and I went to Animal Haven Zoo and were frightened, disgusted, and remorseful for what we saw and paid money to. When you first enter the “zoo”, you see a black leopard on top of a rotting wooden shack, with no toys or any sort of fresh water present. We continued on and came across a crocodile, which I’m not sure if it was real or not, but the high today is 68 degrees with a low of 47 degrees, and I did not see any additional shelter for the crocodile or fresh water. The grounds throughout the “zoo” were unkept and full of feces. The animals had either matted fur or lack thereof. On the “nature trail” there were more unkept exhibits and we viewed sheep without any grass, fresh water, and in a barren environment of dead trees and rusted fences. What was most disheartening was the bears. They seem to only be fed through a PVC pipe that is propped up through the fence. Other than that, I don’t believe their small cages are attended to, and again, the theme of no toys or anything to play with was present. There were two lions, and three or four tigers. I wish I knew what I was paying money to before I went. But I am glad that I am able to report this. My heart breaks for the animals and the owners are NOT fit to care for them.

If I could give this place zero ⭐ I most definitely would. Everything we seen you could pretty much see on a farm. There was a couple big cats and bears. But everything was so sad, under fed, boney, begging for food. There was a kangaroo that had ear mites so bad he couldn't stop shaking. It was $12 an adult which we thought was very high considering half the pens were empty. They had house dogs in a pen that were begging and fighting over food. We will not go back.

I was appalled to learn about the penalty and the long list of citations you've received for violating the federal Animal Welfare Act. Inspection reports from the U.S. Department of Agriculture detail example after example of your facility's failures to meet captive animals' most basic needs, such as access to drinking water, adequate veterinary care, and safe enclosures.

If I could rate this place zero out of 5 I would. This place was upsetting, disturbing, disgusting and so much more. I went to enjoy looking at animals as I am an avid animal lover and always enjoy petting and feeding them but after I saw this place I wish I NEVER gave my money to them. The animals were so unkept and in filthy conditions. Feces everywhere, matted hair, getting fed dog food for meals, ungodly small cages for the big animals, and so much more. The exotic animals were in TERRIBLE conditions and should not have been there. Super super small cages for the bears, lions, tigers, and all of the other big animals. Absolutely depressing. If you love animals PLEASE do not support this place. I hope all the animals get re-homed with proper habitats and care.

I loved this, I am an animal lover, of course we bought all the food bags to feed them. We had so much fun. All of the animals were so sweet! I was nervous about maybe buying, not one of them did. They all loved us and our attention. The owner was so kind and chatted. You could tell he was so proud and loved all of the animals. It was a nice break from driving.

Have been here several times and it never disappoints. The people who run it are incredibly friendly and have a great family area before you enter the zoo (couches, resting area even a pack and play incase someone needs a nap)Takes about 2 hours if you enjoy the animals, is very clean and has multiple large cats and bears (you can feed the bears which they love)As of 2023 it’s cash only, they have an ATM up front if needed, everything is priced very reasonably.

Lots of cool animals however they look like they never get taken care of. They had lots of burs stuck in fur, broken sharp fencing, very small cages and a baby horse which was so skinny that its ribs were popping out. These animals get no love or care.

Farm animals had bigger cages than animals like tigers, lions, cougar. A lot of random chickens in pens like it was a “site to see” chickens, likely the only source of food for the many animals. Animals are stressed and pacing in the enclosure. Empty water dishes that are dirty. We left feeling sad & decided we wouldn’t be supporting a zoo anytime soon.

Yeah we get that it's a zoo, it's wild animal cruelty, etc. But for some reason every time I visit this one my heart hurts worse than from any other zoo or farm. From the conditions of the animals to the food supply and the water resources it's just unfortunate that they don't have more options. Paying almost 40$ for one adult and two children and snacks for the animals is wild! I had a great time, the kids were happy, but we can tell the animals aren't happy.

Went during school hours so the place was pretty empty. Had a fun time feeing the various animals. They had carrots and seed to feed the various animals. The animals must be used to it, most of them come right up to the edge of their pen sticking their heads out. They were also feeding the tigers when we got there so that was a cool bonus. Some of the cages had a few different animals together. There were a few goats a dog and emu hanging out together it was pretty cool.

The owners accommodated for us to come visit the zoo on a day they were closed. We enjoyed seeing many happy animals who were happy to see us too! Our favorites were the wolves, bears and tigers. This zoo was well worth the time and money spent. Well worth the trip! Thank you for caring so deeply for your animals and sharing this joy with us too!

I've been to this small Zoo several times over several years and have seen many different sides to it. One thing you can always count on; don't say you "feel sorry for the animals" within earshot of either of the proprietors, or YOU'LL get an EARFULL in return! It IS a SMALL zoo, but in their defense, I have never seen deliberate mistreatment of ANY of their animals. Some enclosures (cages) may be a bit on the small side, but I wouldn't call them "crowded", "filthy", "unsafe", or any of the other flat out untrue terms used by some organizations trying to shut them down. Sure, it's not the San Diego Zoo, but these animals are NOT SUFFERING (I'll say it again) MISTREATMENT at the hands of the Owners! They have free choice food, water, shelter; and any number of workers and volunteers are constantly 'making the rounds' of the zoo checking "things" we don't even know about! We all know one of the organizations trying to shut them down is "A-Bit-Over-The-Top" to say the least, when it comes to the definition of the "treatment of animals" (If they had their way, we wouldn't even be able to MILK cows!). Let's just use some common sense (of which there seems to be a shortage, lately) and support our small-town entrepreneurs who, when all is said and done, REALLY ARE doing a GOOD JOB of running the ZOO.Until/unless you can do a better job of it--Keep Quiet!! & Just enjoy the animals the way they were intended to be enjoyed!

F**k this roadside zoo. I did community service here and was absolutely disgusted by the way it's ran.
