Service was nice and attentive, but the food was sub par for 30-35 dollars a plate. The crab cakes were so small and were 26 dollars, even in small coastal towns, where the crab is caught that day, it’s not that expensive. I love spending money on good food but the portions and quality were sort of disappointing :( The whitefish was okay, have cooked better at home, but for 35$ you’d think it would be outstanding. It’s a cute place but i’d save your money

Read about the fish fry in Milwaukee journal. Did not disappoint! Just the right amount of breading ( I had breaded cod..husband had potatoe breaded cod) soups were delicious and thankfully served hot!!!!!! Cute, quante restaurant...gave us the throw back, Wisconsin Friday fish fry vibe. Definitely will go back!

Old school, but the best school is how I describe Jack Pandl's Whitefish Bay Inn. Been coming here seemingly forever. Just great in every way. I love the atmosphere on top of the wonderful entrees. These folks know how to prepare fish so beautifully. I also enjoy the Pandl Brau...one of my favorite brews on terra firma. I can't wait to go back. Bill O'Dea

My sister and I went to Jack Pandl's really looking forward to having their lamb shank. The flavor was good but the lamb shank was way underdone. I let the waiter know after the meal and he showed concern about it but did not offer to do anything for us about our disappointment in our meal. I ate very little of the lamb and told him I was taking it home to cook it all of the way through. To pay what we did for an under-cooked meal was a huge disappointment.

Great quaint ambiance for a couple or family. We ate in the dining but there was a cool vintage bar area as well. The whitefish was very good. We split the large portion and bought ann extra salad and sides. The old fashioned was one of the best we have had. Burbon served sour!

Lovely Sunday dinner at Jack Pandl's! It had been years since I went and it was fun to introduce it to my daughter. My mom enjoyed being back there too, as it was a regular place we brought our family to when I was a kid. Service was fun, polite, and thorough if we had questions. It is a gem - Keep the tradition going!!!

Thought the place was okay. It's an older Supper club feel out of an old converted residence. Nice white linen tables and candles to set the mood with Beer Steins and horned skulls lining the walls. Kind of an old World German theme, I guess. Food tasted good, but portions were very small. $45 for smaller filet mignon, with 1 cup of steamed broccoli and four rolls and a few smaller red baked potatoes...okay.

Fabulous as usual! In 55 years the food and service has been consistently wonderful! Their Friday fish fries and Sunday brunches are great. I especially like the whitefish and German pancake. Pandl's is definitely a Hidden Gem!

I love this hidden gem! In my opinion they have one of the best fish fries and the best schnitzel in the area. I always start off with an old-fashioned. Depending on the night, I go fish or schnitzel. The menu is full of traditional dishes and although I'm sure they're all amazing, I have to get for one of my favorites. The salads and soup are also a must. This is definitely the kind of place where you want to go all out! The venue itself isn't huge so plan to make a reservation because I don't think I've ever been able to get served right away as a walk-in. They do have a bar area but again, it's quite small. Drinks from the bar great, not a huge beer selection but they do have a great wine selection.

Very good, nostalgic German-centric dining experience in Whitefish Bay. Enjoyed the nod to 50-60's decor in a what appeared to be a house/log cabin. The Schnitzel and fish were both good including the traditional Germans sides. The grandkids had the Dutch baby pancakes...Our bill came out to over $100 which included 1 beer, tea and two sodas. That seemed a bit overpriced for the food and overall dining experience, however, the uniqueness and coziness of the space was worth the expense.

Although I know their signature dish is Whitefish, I ordered the Whitefish dinner and 1/3 of the fish was so fishy I could not eat it, the potatoes were delicious, the salad, very good but sparce, my friend had the Whitefish cakes and she experienced the same, part of the cakes were good where the other not eatable. We told our waitress and she walked away

I had the german pancakes. It was a very well made dish. The ribs were also fantastic. Its very good for a quaint little place to eat with your familyVegetarian options: Not very friendly for vegetarian or vegan but what did you expect? It's over a century old give it a break

I was hesitant to leave a review because I never like to leave a bad one. My girlfriend and I ate here around a year ago, we were there on a weeknight and there was a short wait for a table inside, or we could sit outside. It was chilly that night, so we were one of two tables sat outside. The other table left shortly after we arrived, and when our eyes wandered over to their table after they left we saw a large rat scurrying off the table. We made our server aware of what we saw, and they laughed it off, saying they'd seen a few rats out on the patio before. They asked if we wanted to move inside, but, since our food had just arrived, we figured it was easier to just eat outside. Our server left and we began attempting to eat, before we'd take too many bites we saw two other rats emerge from somewhere and scurry across the patio. At this point neither of us could eat, so after waiting around 10 minutes for our server to return we asked for boxes and the check so we could get out of there. When they returned they asked if we'd seen the rat again, and when we said yes they shared that another table that week had the rat hide on the railing right next to their table and eat some of the salad crackers they had set down while they were eating next to them. I've never been so disgusted by a dining experience in my life, we couldn't even recall what our food tasted like on our car ride home. I'm always willing to give places a second chance, but until then this remains on my do-not-go list.
