We attended a marriage retreat. We enjoyed the fellowship, food and most of all what we learned from the marriage counseling

All three of our kids love going here. They're usually spending one or two weeks a year plus a couple weekends in the winter. Lots of fun things to do and all around. Fantastic memories.

Do not under any circumstances send your children here, pick a different camp, they punish and embarrass kids for not even doing anything, in the cafeteria they made a cabin eat with their mouths open and without silverware because they lost a cabin challenge, the doctrine is incredibly inaccurate, and technically they are using brainwashing technics to get your kids to walk the altar, so they can count that as another one saved, they give out decision sticks, which when you think about it put all of your faith on a plaque placing your faith in a vow you made, and not an actually commitment to God. My teacher discussed suicide (and how to do it) and pointed to the crowd and said some of you will commit suicide for certainly. (he was speaking statistically.) 5 hours of Bible lessons per day early in the morning and late at night. Don't send your kids there, it feels like a prison. The camp is completely split into two teams, and the teams even sit on opposite sides of the the cafeteria. It is impossible to make friends with anyone from the other side as well. The competition isn't friendly it's angry, halfway through the week I had enough and wanted to go home and they wouldn't let me, not even call my mom. Don't send your kids, unless you want them to come back with trama. Camp fairwood sounds better although I've been scarred from going anywhere else.

Camp Joy has been a family tradition for quite a while. It's an amazing camp, with friendly staff, good food, and great preaching. The family camp side of things has gotten less organized over the years though, due to more focus on teens and Juniors. Otherwise, it's an amazing experience.

So many issues. There are many better camps to choose. This camp has many problems. Don’t go here.
