I work remotely, and although I have a fantastic home office, I work from libraries or coffee shops about once a week becaues there are just too many distractions at home. From The Ground Up is in my regular rotation of away-from-home work spaces. Some of the older reviews mention that there's no WiFi and they don't take card payments, but that is no longer the case, so don't let that deter you. It's a friendly atmosphere and the baristas are incredibly welcoming, even if you just buy one drink and sit in a booth or at a table for several hours. (Guilty.) I haven't tried the food, but it looks and smells great. My go-to drink is a mocha, and I've never had a bad mocha here in the 2+ years I've been coming in. This is a nice little coffee shop, and I'm glad we have a place like this in downtown Wisconsin Rapids.

I like it. Nice coffee. I've had really good lattes. Good service. They don't have a problem using my travel mug. Good food, like pastries, muffins, biscotti, bagels, sandwiches, and soup. Teas and coffee gifts. Love the variety of seating from tables, booths, and group size table in the back. Fun decor. Free little library inside. Bulletin board.

Since coming back to central WI, my partner and I had our first date in a while at the Coffee House. We came at 2:50pm, had our drinks and played our favorite card game before leaving. The owner let us stay til 4 without letting us know we’ve overstayed our time. ? I only realized this when we came back a second time that their closing time was at 3pm. Friendly service, wonderful display of arts, variety of books and games to choose from while staying there. And I love getting coffee served in mugs! The atmosphere is very cozy and homey!

More than I would expect from a coffee shop Friendly atmosphere In my opinion I need to see locationVegetarian options: Seem to have plenty of fresh vegetables I'm not sure if they have it but I would think to have a salad thereKid-friendliness: Lots of cute books on shells to be looked through Available board games Plenty of room Filled with fascinating Artful figures Sure to catch a child's imaginationParking: Plenty of parking along the street for any of the adjacent BusinessesWheelchair accessibility: Besides the heavy front door It should be easy enough to get in with a chair

Stopped in to fill my reusable cup so I could avoid another day of conference coffee. Quick and friendly service, just $3.25 for a cold brew coffee with plant based milk. Looked like a lot of locals enjoying this as a meet up spot. Fun decor and many free books to borrow. Just down the street from the Hotel Mead. Definitely worth a stop if you are in town

Stop in to the warmest most cozy lil coffee shop with excellent service and delicacies. Their wild berry muffins are rivaled by none!

Everyday I'm finding something new I like. The coffee no doubt is good but the tea is amazing. The baked goods are also very well done, made fresh daily.
