I live in a semi-rural area. I pay for weekly garbage pick up, with recycling pick up every fourth week. Garbage pick-up is reliable, but they routinely fail to pick up my recycling. I tell them about it, but the problem never gets solved. Most times I haul my recycling bags down to the end of my driveway the night before scheduled pick up, and then have to haul them back up to my garage two days later because they were not picked up. Very frustrating.

First our rates doubled and they said we had to pay the difference in the new rate for the last month of the quarter we had already paid for. Then the truck went off our driveway during the spring thaw and had to get pulled out with a tow truck. Left a rut 1.5 feet deep and about 40 yards long and put three huge potholes in our driveway. We had to call three times to get them to come out and fix it. They first came out with just gravel. Claimed they didn't know the extent of them damage, would have to come back. Then came out with a load of "topsoil" and grass seed. The job was done so poorly I went to take pictures for documentation. It wasn't smoothed so it would have been too rough to mow if the grass (unevenly spread) would have grown. Upon closer examination I found there was all sorts of plastic, other garbage, and even BROKEN GLASS in what they called topsoil. When I called again to complain this had been done the operations manager was rude, condescending, and clearly annoyed that I was complaining. How ridiculous of me to be upset there is broken glass now where my kids play barefoot in the summer. I only gave them one star because they have to get at least one to be rated, they shouldn't have any.

We switched to Advanced Disposal after WM became impossible to work with in our rural location. WM insisted our trash be placed on the opposite side of the street where there is a steep drop very close to the shoulder. Several times the can was blown off the shoulder before their truck came to collect, scattering cans & garbage down the hill. The Wis Rapids Advanced office has been nothing but accommodating, they are great! The truck picks up at the end of the driveway and we have no problems. After my confusion on recycling dates caused us to miss a pick-up they even sent a truck back to collect it. When we were going to be away from home for a few months we suspended service but went right back to Advanced. They were understanding and we had no confusion with billing. I always recommend their service.

Garbage pickup is included within our taxes. Wish there was more info on what is accepted to recycle and how it should be placed at the roadside. Curious if all just gets thrown together. New to area, new homeowners, so no recycle bin provided. Info on website and email response not much help.

After reading the other reviews I'm thinking we must have a different Advanced Disposal that services Vesper. We have had nothing but a positive experience with both the trash and recycling pick-up. We try to be tidy when setting out the trash for pick-up, but the occasional stray animal will get into the bag before it's picked up, and the Advanced Disposal employee is very conscientious in picking up any trash that may have been blown around. I've witnessed them cleaning up messes weekly when previous neighbors put small mountains of trash out for pick-up with no concern about keeping the trash contained to one area. The employees are always friendly, with a wave and smile. We've had much the same experience on the rare occasion that we telephoned the office with a question. Costs continue to go up for everything, so why wouldn't that be expected from Advanced Disposal as well. We don't like it, but it's the norm nowadays. First and foremost the employees rock but my review is more about how they treat there employees. My boyfriend works for Advanced through a temp agency and has been there over six months. He has been a very hard worker and does not get paid nearly as much as he should. He works ten hour days and five days week and because it's through the end agency he gets paid way less. The company won't hire him on for another year and I assume it's because of past mistakes he has made but he has changed. New person new life new location and is doing everything right but we are robbing Peter to pay Paul and still don't have anything left in the end and we live on a tight budget. I wish you would pay more through the temp agency. We also are customers and other then carelessness of the drivers not picking everything up we have had no problem. The staff is awesome and I would be giving it a 1 star if it wasn't for that.
