Blue Gables Motel And Coffee Bar offers a unique and historic lodging experience in Buffalo. The property features charming cabins that resemble 1950s hunting cabins, adding a nostalgic touch. Many guests appreciate its close proximity to downtown Buffalo, just a short walk to restaurants, coffee shops, and local attractions. The motel is praised for being clean, quiet, and comfortable, making it an ideal stopover for travelers exploring the area. The motel boasts a nice-looking pool, a fire pit, and a covered area where guests can cook, enhancing the outdoor experience. Some reviews mention that the cabins do not have microwaves, but there is a communal area with one available. The rooms are pet-friendly, which is appreciated by guests traveling with animals. The staff, especially those at the connected coffee shop and the Occidental, are often described as friendly and helpful, providing good recommendations and Western hospitality. However, experiences vary due to some organizational issues. Guests have reported inconsistent check-in procedures, with some cabins left open or with doors unlocked for extended periods. There have been concerns about bugs, limited amenities like toilet paper and toiletries, and limited Wi-Fi access that requires asking staff for the code. Some guests found the service to be lacking in attention to detail, especially considering the price. Despite these issues, many guests enjoyed their stay, citing it as a comfortable, clean, and convenient place to explore Buffalo and surrounding attractions like Longmire Days and the Bighorns. Overall, Blue Gables is seen as a charming, historic place with potential, offering a distinctive experience for those seeking a simple, affordable stay.
