I booked a 2.5-hour color service with styling at Ulta in Casper, specifically with Samantha. I arrived prepared and showed her exactly what I was hoping to achieve… just some lighter highlights, nothing dramatic. She immediately told me the look I wanted would take two separate appointments, and when I clarified that I didn’t want to go darker but simply wanted highlights, she responded that it would take four hours because “highlights with her take a long time.”
The issue? Ulta’s website doesn’t even allow you to book a four-hour color appointment. I selected the service with the maximum time available. When I asked what could be done in the timeframe I had, she told me “nothing” could be done and basically blamed me for not booking correctly, despite following the booking system exactly.
What made the experience worse was her attitude. From the moment I sat in her chair, it was clear she didn’t want to work with me. The consultation felt tense and uncomfortable… not necessarily because of what she said, but the tone she used: dismissive, sarcastic, and unwelcoming. She told me I would need to rebook, and when I explained that it’s not easy for me to do that because I have a full-time job, she gave me a sarcastic high five for owning my own business. Beyond that moment, it just felt like she either didn’t want to do my hair at all or was trying to price-gouge me by stretching the service across multiple appointments.
I’ve never felt so uncomfortable with a stylist. If time was truly the issue, it could’ve been handled kindly and professionally. Instead, it felt like I was being talked down to and brushed off. Very disappointed in the service and lack of basic customer care.

Even though there was only 1 cashier in the front and super busy at checkout, this young lady Anna I think was very helpful, positive and patient with everyone including myself. I've gone in a few more times after. Today I had gone in and needed help finding a few things and that same cashier was there and dropped everything she was doing to help me find a few things I needed. The whole time she was so vibrant, and super nice and new where items I needed were.
I don't go here often but when I do everyone goes above and beyond and I recommend this store for sure.
Very clean as well!!!!

Very good workers. The store always smells amazing. The workers always smell amazing and always look good! Recommended a lot to go there. Well stocked and very clean too.

there was a really cute manager named Melanie that helped me pick out a cologne, I’ve never smelt so good, I may have the confidence to go back in and ask for her number, on top of the best customer service I’ve ever received

Easy to find products. The sales clerk mentioned sales items. I purchased shampoo and conditioner to try.

The lady that was helping me her name was Katelyn too (I’m sure I spelt it wrong) she was so helpful and so sweet. Everyone in that store was super helpful and kind! I live in Buffalo wy so we don’t have an ulta. Thank you

Huge thank you to Sam, Kaylin, and Jenikah. (Hope I spelled their names correctly.) As soon as we walked in, Sam greeted us and asked if we needed any help. I explained what I was looking for and that I was overwhelmed by all the choices. She walked me around and showed me a few skincare options that matched my needs and what she thought would help. I found her to be very sincere in what she recommended and appreciated that she didn't just take me to the most expensive product as most stores do. I can not wait to try it! She was also prompt to helping my husband get a cologne out of the case, so we were not waiting forever.
Kaylin walked by as I was checking out some haircare products. She stopped and asked if I needed help, which gave me the opportunity to ask a few questions. She was knowledgeable about what I picked out, and offered a couple more options to give me different price points and ingredient options. Extremely helpful and also sincere. Later, I ran into her again with questions about makeup remover, as I had spaced to ask Sam when she was showing me skincare. Kaylin, again, was prompt to show me a few options and explain the benefits of each.
Jenikah was our cashier. She was extremely pleasant, asked if we had found everything ok, and made sure I was getting my points for my purchase. She gave me the normal offers, but only explained the benefits and was not pushy about it at all. An extremely friendly end to my shopping experience.
10/10 Will return to this store. Thank you ladies! :)

The salon has gone downhill in recent years. Terrible service and poor work. Samantha Ryan told me that my appointment was for an hour before what I had booked, even though I had the confirmation email and text verifying the correct time. She said their system had a different time. Not sure how that is possible, fortunately for me though (I thought) she was still able to do my hair.
Anyway turns out that’s not even the worst part…I ask for beachy curls and show her a pic of myself with the exact waves I wanted (just to verify for clarity) she barely glanced at the pic and starts doing my hair (huge red flag that I ignored). I was starting to really worry when she didn’t use any heat protectant but gave her the benefit of the doubt and thought she was just not finished prepping my hair. Long story short, she did not end up putting any heat protectant (another huge red flag) in my hair and scorched it. Super damaged. Completely ignored my reference picture and proceeded to do Shirley temple like curls on my entire head. I trusted her though and thought somehow the end result might be correct (silly me) it was not even close to beachy loose waves.
Extremely poor quality service and very frustrating after years of going to this salon with their previous hairdressers, I thought I would give her a chance after my other gal left. Huge mistake. I don’t think this person has the proper knowledge/expertise to work in a salon and I left extremely disappointed, hair damaged, and wishing that my appt would have been cancelled due to their “scheduling issue.”
