in and out, nice ladies. only issue was that I was told $225 at first - understanding it was more because it was several w2s. then she told me that she would do it for $200. when all is said and done I end up paying $285. In a lobby with other patrons, i just sucked it up with no questions, and at least I actually have a refund this year so that's good. I think ill jump on the turbo tax wagon next year.

My experience here could have been worse, but I am still disappointed overall. I have always filed taxes myself but my employer made a mistake on my W-2 that I did not catch until I went to file. Since I was unsure how to file properly on the self-guided tax software, I went to have it professionally filed. Service was decent, and they did find a fix to my employer mistake moving forward. I had to owe, which is not their fault; but when I went to sign off on my return I asked how to pay what I owed. I was told that I should wait till the IRS letter/notice came in the mail to pay because there is no incentive to pay on-the-spot. Trusting what I was being told, I waited for the letter. Nearly 3 months after filing, I finally received the notice in the mail from the IRS. Come to find out, the IRS charged me nearly $75 in penalties and interest since I didn’t pay at the time the taxes were due (which was the date I filed). I’ve never had to owe before so I didn’t know about penalties or interest on such circumstances. What kills me was I had the money I owed on the day I filed, I could’ve paid it that day on-the-spot but trusted the advice I was being given by the tax professional. Not happy with having to pay more to file via tax professional vs. the at-home software, plus having to dish out an extra $75 to the IRS over bad advice.

Customer service has always been an important aspect in my doing business with a company. Marie, at Liberty Tax on Pershing Blvd., is knowledgeable, attentive and personable. It is the reason why I choose to continue doing business with them.

As the owner I need to defend my business. It is evident that a few people have had a bad experience, and they have a right to their opinion. It is sad that they feel the need to degrade the business I have built for over 18 years and helped 1000's of clients. Please try to understand that we know not everthing will work perfectly in our day to day practices every time, that's reality, and that our price is always dependent on the complexity of the tax return and one's abilty to pay our fees. I feel we are very good at what we do for people both in terms of service and cost. Our average fee for tax preparation ends up being a little over $220 from the very simplest tax return to the most complex. Ultimately they range from $0 (free) to maybe $750. Don't be afraid to ask me to consider looking at the fees we are asking from you based on your situation. I'm always happy to do that. Thank you for listening. Respectfully, Kort Kinstler, Owner

Will not be using this tax service. I spoke to Kourt on Friday asking if we could file the taxes that day or the following morning, and he agreed and let me know the state taxes would be included in the price and that it would be less then $200 for both state and federal together. It is Wednesday and he didn’t even remember our conversation and his excuse was that one of his filers was doing my return, and also that he has more customers then just me. I didn’t like this at all, but decided I can’t lose anymore time. He then says it’s going to be over $200 and that we didn’t discuss the state taxes nor are they done and that he can’t efile them as agreed either. Needless to say, this is one customer service failure after another. All I ask for is what I am paying for and for it to be delivered when we agreed. Neither of these very basic needs were met, therefore I will not continue with Liberty and would advise others the same way unfortunately.
