“Shout out to Derek, the manager, for making things right. I was traveling though the area when a flat tire late at night caused me to have to get a hotel and wait till the morning to get it fixed. I called first thing when they opened and was told they were busy but they could take care of it. When I arrived they said it would be 2 hours and they would let me know if it could be fixed or if the sidewall was shot. When a text message said the it would be another 3 hours, I called and spoke with the manager. At first he tried to explain, giving me all the usual excuses. When I stopped him and said it simply isn’t okay to get people to commit to their service and then not uphold their end of it, he promptly took care of it. He didn’t have a match to the tire, so he checked inventory of the store where I live and said they could order it. He put a brand new tire on so I could get on the road. As a courtesy for their delay, there was no charge. Shit happens. Most businesses just let the customer absorb their shortcomings. This man didn’t do that. He took personal responsibility and made things right. How refreshing! Well done Derek!”
“I pulled into this station crying, with two dogs, after my car was giving me all the signs it was about to break down. The kicker is, that I have been driving from Alaska for the past ten days, I’m mentally and physically exhausted, running out of money and drove thru some scary stuff.
I met Tommie, who instantly asked me what was wrong and sat with me after getting my dogs fresh water to drink.
Tommie and his team took such good care of me. While the team worked on my car, Tommie took the time to talk to me, calm me down, explain everything step by step, and reassure me they would do all they could to help and support me.
I felt so supported. Even though my car was not really able to be fixed, they helped me tremendously. Tommie even went as far as helping me load my stuff from my car to a uhaul I had to rent ( my entire life was crammed into that car).
I don’t know if this is the norm there, but I do know that that type of care is rare and I am grateful that my car chose to break down near them instead of anyone else. I feel like I met a friend and not a customer service mechanic. I feel like they cared more about me than they did about money. I felt supported and if I wasn’t so tight on money after all this mess and this long trip (not over yet I have 3 more driving days to go), I would send the entire team flowers or cupcakes or donuts or something to show my gratitude.
Thank you to everyone there who helped me, supported me and was patient with me during the hours of crying I did in your shop.
And thank you to Tommie who went WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND for me and my dogs during such a stressful and disheartening time.”
