Good location, friendly service. What else could you want? It’s important to note that none of the cabins have WiFi or cell service (We tried Verizon, AT&T, T-mobile and Union wireless) but the main lobby did have starlink internet (way better than other lodges that have Hues Net) Craig was very helpful and friendly, along with his staff. Would definitely come again.

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights while visiting Yellowstone. We enjoyed the rustic cabins and location. It was convenient having a restaurant on-site and got coffee to go every morning for our drive into the park. We had the opportunity to speak with the owner and learn some history of the lodge and cabins. He and his staff are very pleasant and helpful.

We went for the two hour horseback ride as a family. The guides were great and the scenery is absolutely beautiful. A great experience.

Our stay at the Lodge was a wonderful ending on a spectacular week at YNP. The drive along the N Fork of the Shoshone River is equally spectacular whether you arrive from the Park or Wapiti. We were a family of four: two teens and two adults. Coming off two days sleeping in the backcountry we were more than pleased with the rustic accommodations at AML. We made good use of the large front porch in Grizzley's Den for hanging our damp gear, reading a book, and star gazing. Our cabin was at the far end of the property with several steps up to the front door. We appreciated the privacy this afforded. Others may prefer something closer to the Lodge. Each cabin is different so if you are not sure call and ask. Wi-Fi at the Lodge is free but internet access this deep in the mountains can be intermittent. Take this as a reminder that you didn't travel all this way to stare at your phone. The dinner and breakfast menu is tasty enough for a few nights and a great convenience at the start and end of your day. As we arrived a bit after the peak season there was not the usual evening campfire. Something to look forward to next time. Our proprietor, Craig, was a friendly and accommodating host. When our daughter injured her wrist climbing on rocks Craig was quick to provide an ice pack and asked after her the next day. We had a wonderful horseback ride into the scenic canyon behind the property. Our guide Alice and horse hand Kaylie were a great help. We had so many wonderful experiences this past week but I think the horseback ride may be my favorite.

Such a cozy place to stay. Cabins were perfect, but if you're looking for Hilton conditions, look elsewhere. This is as close to nature as you can get!

You have to try their food! One of the best meals I’ve ever had! The steaks were cooked perfect and reasonably priced. Even my picky little eaters like everything they had(steak and pasta). The fried chicken is out of this world! The waffle with ice cream dessert is so good! The host is very friendly and the whole place is quaint and cute. If you are not staying there, I still highly recommend having dinner there!

Charming little cabins. It was like stepping back in time. The lodge has a homey feel with fireplace and checkers. The food was delicious. We felt like family. The beds were comfortable. It is rustic, but charming. It is a beautiful drive from the East entrance of Yellowstone.

The lodge is the perfect distance from Yellowstone but a little bit further from Cody than we realized. We did a trail ride with Ben and the views on the ride were spectacular. We only had breakfast there and it was delicious. The creek was the perfect place to sit after a long day of hiking and the campfire was a great way to end the night. We really enjoyed our time here and would recommend it to anyone wanting to be in Yellowstone but not wanting to be right in the park.

The family who owns it is simply amazing! Kind and personable. The location is absolutely breath-taking! Dining there is wonderful, family experience and the food is delicious! The cabins are very clean and I loved sitting and having the time to relax and read a great book! Truly a magical time and I highly recommend it!

Friendly staff and owner, beautiful scenery and rustic cabins that truly allow you to disconnect!Pros:- Beautiful, peaceful scenery- Clean- Quiet- Very close to Yellowstone- Friendly owner and staff- RusticCons (some might say):- No Wi-Fi or cell service in cabins, there is Wi-Fi in the main lodge, but it’s very spotty from what we experienced- No TV or AC in the cabins- The ceilings of the cabins are very low due to the buildings being historic (my 6’4” husband was ducking a lot lol)- No frills place — I would define this more as “glamping” than staying at a hotel (which could be a pro or a con honestly)

Our family of 4 spent nights at Absaroka Lodge. We enjoyed our stay. Very scenic area of the Absaroka Mountains. It has a rustic old west feel that we liked for this kind of trip. Cabin room was rustic as expected but clean. Staff seemed friendly but they did appear to be understaffed. We spent 3 days in Yellowstone and 1 day mostly at the lodge including a horse ride in the morning with Ben the wrangler. It was a nice moderate 2 hour ride through the valley and the kids enjoyed it as well. We had dinner 1 night at the lodge and the food was good and seemed fairly priced. Cabin rate seemed a little high but could be because of the limited options outside the east entrance. Takes about an hour or so to get to fishing bridge inside the park from the lodge and about 40 mins to get to Cody from the lodge. Cody is a cool old west town with many things to do. Gun Barrel Creek runs right through the property which was cool and nice to hear when sitting outside or at night in the cabin. Limited wildlife spotted on the property. 1 deer by the horse stable and some grouse on the horse ride. They have a few dogs and 1 cat on the property. Office/dinning area was nice on inside and fit old west theme. Cabin was a little rough around the edges but not bad just maybe need a little work. Property also could use a little work with trimming/removing trees and bushes to gain more access to the creek in more areas and also open views to mountain cliffs from cabins with removal of select trees to open up views.

I went on vacation and this was no doubt my favorite hotel because of the cabins, the valley it was in, the checker table in the lobby, the horses, and the fried chicken?. The staff was very nice and they were quite helpful. My sister really wanted to go trail riding but it rained and it was canceled. The person who worked at the stables came over to our table at the restaurant and apologized to us and explained that it was dangerous for the horses to go out in that weather. We got our money back and I think that they handled the situation very well. It's about 20 miles from Yellowstone's east entrance which is very convenient. I would stay there again.

Staff was extremely friendly. Cabin was nice. One suggestion would be for better lighting at drive from main road and especially at cabins near back. Lighting inside cabin could be added to as well. Location was quaint, rustic and extremely close to East entrance into Yellowstone.
